Pequonnock River Valley Park / Rails to Trails

Miles of hiking trails in a deep valley along a scenic river that was once a water company reservoir. The Trails run from Bridgeport to Newtown, utilizing grants from the State to develop the trails as part of a national program to utilize historic railroad beds as walkways and bicycle paths. Trails run the gamut from a flat 2.5 mile former railroad bed to steeper trails that claim the ridges on either side of the river.

Limited parking is located on Tait Road and off Whitney Avenue. A parking sticker is not necessary. Suitable for children, walking with dogs, and mountain biking.
