Nell Minow Common Sense Media So-so sci-fi; may be too intense for some kids. Rated: 3/5 Feb 16, 2021 Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal Swerves into irreversible stupidity down the stretch, generally plays like a half-formed prequel to "Ancient Aliens," and ends like a Disney ride version of "Ad Astra." But Brian De Palma's hand is all over the sustained tension of the second act. Rated: 2/5 Nov 30, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Redbil A This movie was completely misunderstood by the journalists at the time. All I can do is implore people to watch it and stay with it. It is slow but you will be immersed by the end. De Palma at his best. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review King Z One of my favorite Sci Fi Movies. Cant believe how it got low ratings. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/20/23 Full Review James K One of my favourite films, so much heart! Not your usual kill the aliens plot line. Visually beautiful, well acted, with characters you can care about. Music is delightful, plot is well thought through. I cry everytime I watch it, lovely❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review Glenn H One of the worst acting jobs I have ever seen in a movie or TV show. It's like they are reading the script for the first time. Don't get started on time jumps either. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review John A One of the sleepiest and most uninvolving bouts of De Palma's remarkable career despite the fluid camerawork and sharp effects in the space scenes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/22/23 Full Review Holly D This movie could have been great if it weren't for the terrible writing and ham-fisted dialogue. It felt like there was regrettably little research done. anything scientific sounded like some one who had a vague understanding of science was writing it. Not at all like some one who knew what they were doing. Not to mention the gross amount of telling instead of showing. This movie could have been great had the writers been more competent.
