This movie was completely misunderstood by the journalists at the time. All I can do is implore people to watch it and stay with it. It is slow but you will be immersed by the end. De Palma at his best.

One of my favourite films, so much heart! Not your usual kill the aliens plot line. Visually beautiful, well acted, with characters you can care about. Music is delightful, plot is well thought through. I cry everytime I watch it, lovely❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This movie could have been great if it weren't for the terrible writing and ham-fisted dialogue. It felt like there was regrettably little research done. anything scientific sounded like some one who had a vague understanding of science was writing it. Not at all like some one who knew what they were doing. Not to mention the gross amount of telling instead of showing. This movie could have been great had the writers been more competent.
