NCCU is a very diverse campus with professors that have a deep passion for the curriculum. It is a very welcoming environment, you will not feel alone.
I am enrolled to attend NC State in the fall. I have been giveen many and sufficient resources for my transition to the univerity college and am looking forward to my time there.
My experience with NC State University is very positive. I have had all great teachers who care about my learning and application of learning. They make time for my questions and help me understand my personal direction without putting their own spin or pressure on me. Grading is challenging and fair. I love the atmosphere on campus and even the barista at Common Grounds Coffee in the Hunt Library is super kind.
What I would like to see change is more collaboration between the family sciences/family life coaching field and other types of coaching training and experience on and through the campus.

NC State is a place of southern hospitality. In the first few seconds on being a campus, you can feel the warm and supportive environment. As a student, there is much to do from the sports intramurals to the events to the sports games and party life.
I have enjoyed my experience at NC State very much. Very few of my classes were too easy or too difficult. All of my instructors have been willing to answer questions and give help when someone needs it, and they usually respond quickly to messages.
NC State has many majors and minors. Many students double major, and I am planning to as well. I love that there are summer classes you can take if your double major takes more than four years to complete. You can take them even to complete a single major or minor too.
Everyone I have interacted with so far has been very nice. I am a little shy, but people usually try to be kind, so I feel more comfortable talking to them. There are hundreds of student organizations. I think there is something for everyone, or you can start your own club.
Only freshmen have to live on campus, but even the biggest dorms are tiny. There are more students than dorms, so some upperclassmen can't get one. I think the dorm situation needs a lot of improvement.

Overall, my first year at North Carolina State university was pretty good. There was not a lot of crime, although we did get a few alerts here and there. The dorm I stayed in was decent but the housing situation is so hectic I wasn't able to get a dorm for my second year. The food options are somewhat limited and many people said the dining hall food made them sick but it tasted alright sometimes. I enjoyed it and will continue attending, I would just like to see the food situation improve and have something to make it a little safer, as often people unaffiliated with the school would come on campus and bother students.
Downtown Raleigh is great. Large city with hometown feel. Campus is close to Raleigh Durham Airport which is convenient for students that live hundreds of miles from campus.
I love NC State. I really enjoy the professors, especially those who really care about you as a student and want you to succeed. I am in the CALS honors college and I study Animal Science. The animal science department is awesome and the staff are great and caring. I would not trade my experiences, relationships built, or time here at NC State for the world. They really strive to help students and provide opportunities for their students to succeed, apply for internships, and so much more.
Liked just about everything. Enjoyed my time at state. I felt like there wasn't anything that needs to be changed. It's good how it is.
NCSU is an amazing university that offers top tier academics, large sports culture, strong campus culture, and offers many opportunities to further careers.
At North Carolina State University, I had the pleasure of being a part of the College of Natural Resources while pursuing a B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences. I felt as though the smaller class sizes within the College of Natural Resources gave an overall large university a smaller, more personal feeling. The professors within my college were fantastic and very personable, and they truly wanted their students to succeed. The campus life was also fantastic, and there was a great family-like culture around the university. If I had to change anything, it would be the parking accessibility around campus and the general flow of traffic in the area.
I love my experience at NC State. The campus and student life is amazing and never fails to make you feel included. Companionship is largely surrounded by campus organizations, which are very inclusive and inviting to all students. I think the academics are less rigorous than they may advertise but the experience is exactly what they make it seem like. Everyone is excited to be there and wants to be included while including those around them. It's an amazing school for building friendships and the transition into the world outside of high school and home life.
While NC State has improvements that need to be made, overall my time as a student were wonderful. I worked as a resident advisor for two years which gave me insight on the inner-workings of some aspects of the school. While the behind-the-scenes may need some improvement, majority of students, including myself, love NC State.
I liked the academics; however, I would have liked to have seen more involvement from the professors. It is a safe college. The tutoring center does not offer much depending on a student's major. The beacon of my experience was my Academic Advisor for Political Science (I am a double major). There is always room for improvement for both students and staff, myself included, so I would like to see more change from all involved for a better college experience.
I enjoy attending school at NCSU. While the professors' ability to teach varies, opportunity is abundant if you have the courage to go after them. I personally am involved in many organizations and love them. There is always something going on and so many ways to make connections. Food is hit or miss, I know many student who got food poisoning from the chicken served at the main dining hall but believe they are mending that situation. I love my dorm, would recommend being a part of a living and learning village if you get the chance. Overall would say the college is a 8/10
This is not the school for you if you want to major in anything related to the humanities. This is most likely also not the school for you if you are really into partying and going out. It is a great school for Computer science and engineering/math-type stuff. It's not very diverse, and the food is pretty bad (except for the ice cream).
I am very satisfied with my decision to attend NC State. Housing, dining, student life, sports and academics have all been exactly what I had expected. I would tell rising high school seniors to look at NC State as a college choice.
