Impressive background animation and cool Samurai Jack inspired setpieces, ultimately cannot save this trainwreck of an English Dub.
Thanks to the infamous editing of the Weinstien brothers once again, The Guardian Brothers is filled with everything wrong with mainstream animation such as cringeworthy jokes, annoying characters, terrible lip-syching and an overuse of pop songs.
It's a shame that this film's admittably interesting ideas about The Spirit World's realtionship with the Real World and the character development of the brothers themselves, is sidelined for pointless subplots and terrible renditions of Kung-Fu Fighting and Never Gonna Dance Again.
Overall, this awful dub is further evidence on why The Weinstien Company should STAY AWAY from all forgien animation.

This is probably the worst animated film I've ever seen. The English dub is awful, and old men actually shit their pants.
Bringing my 1/2* ratings for any other animated movie up after this atrocity.
Though some of it works, "The Guardian Brothers" is beset by minor issues that undercut the family-friendly, animated fantasy's strengths. The premise is solid enough: two benevolent spirits, assigned to helping humans when needed, are called to duty while the spirit world tries to force changes upon time honored tasks. Storywise, the film consists of a hodgepodge of disparate hero quest and struggling family beats; and the production, while featuring interesting designs, is weighed down by some lifeless human characters and phoned-in voice work. Kids may be engaged by the film, but adults will be left restless.

Wow. Edward Norton's work here redefines "stiff acting". It's like he just read his lines for the first time. The worst voice acting I've heard in years.
The film is decent enough, and there's some fine animation and solid set pieces, but it's hard to judge the film with The Weinstein's poor production fucking up the autenticity of the film with terrible dubbing and silly pop songs in way too many scenes.
Netflix should be able to provide the film to its users with the original dub, or don't bother at all.
The dubbing is absolutely atrocious. One of the worst I've seen. The animation has nice moments but I was very bored. The use of music feels very cringy and it feels like a cut-rate Kung fu Pana. Heck it feels like cut-rate Rock Dog
Bella Thorne really brings this movie down. The only redeeming part of this movie was the AMAZING animation that was accomplished. The only reason I watched it all the way through was because I just wanted to watch the art.
