Despite allegedly being a four-star hotel the desk staff was incompetent messing up our registration, losing the passport copies, and sending us to the wrong room. On top of all that there is no ventilation in the quote transition season, it's noisy when you try to open the windows to have any fresh air and apparently nobody on the hotel cleaning staff noticed that the bathroom stinks of mold probably because of the leak on the carpet. I would definitely recommend staying anywhere else this is not a four-star hotel!

Dear Fern These autumn days have had higher than usual temperatures and the presence of mosquitoes in Florence, especially in the areas of the centre near the river, have indeed created some problems. The water leak on the floor was a sudden event that was immediately resolved. We are sorry for the inconvenience on the day of arrival due to a busy time. We look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards

The only positive I can say about this hotel is its location.
We stayed at this establishment for 4 nights. We had No Hot water fro one full day. The shower spilled all ove rthe bathroow which made a huge hazard!
Hotel is decorativelty extremely tired with decor being a throw back to the 1980's
The staf on the reception were all extremely arogant and rude. The WIFI was extemely poor so if you are thinking of catching up with emails forget it! overall extremely disappointing and certainly not value for money.

The lobby has dirty smelly carpet, the rooms are outdated and nasty.
The bathrooms had broken shower doors and human feces smeared on the bottom of the toilets.
The carpets inside the family rooms are old, smelly, and disgusting.
There were small insects and flys in the room even though the room has windows that can’t open.
Save your money and go else where.

I used a bed and got a rash…

Wonderful central location makes for an easy walk to all the must see sites, including the Duomo, train station, and restaurants. Easy to walk with luggage to train station; many many people are doing this. Nice breakfast with good variety and service. Nice shampoo and toiletries, but no conditioner. Front desk staff very helpful. Definitely worth it to stay so centrally.

The hotel is extremely outdated, good location but otherwise it’s terrible. Smelly carpet, AC doesn’t work properly..impossible to adjust the temperature, shower has a leaky shower door. Lobby has old smelly carpet, rude staff. This hotel has nothing going for it except the location

I was traveling with a group. There was an issue and our reservations were all cancelled just a few days before our arrival, without our knowledge. Cancellation was not the fault of the hotel, nor was it ours, however when traveling and trying to contact them to discuss what could be done, the woman who answered the phone was beyond rude. It tried to explain that WE did NOT cancel the reservations and I wanted to see what could be done even if we had to split our party.

She was rude and in no way helpful. Further to that when I called back to try and book, she screamed "NO ROOMS" like she knew exactly who I was and hung up on me. Now I won't stay here in the future, or refer any of our clients here, just because that is the type of treatment we received due to an error that was not of our making.

Hotel De Ville is a grand hotel in the European tradition. Located in the high fashion district, it is close to everything. Our room was long and narrow with lots of room, especially for Europe. The bathroom was huge. All rooms were well appointed, and the bedding and towels were of a high quality. The buffet breakfast was amazing. The staff was pleasant and helpful. My only complaint was the lighting. Either the lighst were all on or off. Only one bedside lamp would work independently of all the others.

Very comfortable stay. My room, though small, was very cozy. The lobby had a generous area for relaxing at the end of the day. The staff was most helpful. The breakfast was great. My only problem was a service door outside of my room (522?). The staff would come and go letting the service door SLAM behind them. Since the hotel is overall very quiet, this sudden loud noise was jarring.

Great location, very friendly staff, great breakfast (included in our rate). We (2 adults, 17 yo and 15 yo) booked the family suite. This is a split level room with lots of room on each floor, so it was great for us as we are really 4 adults. A very good deal for our family. Quiet location yet easy to walk from the hotel to the train station, or anywhere else for that matter.

Unfortunately our timing for visiting Florence couldn't have been worse. We arrived as Covid 19 was escalating quickly in Northern Italy. BUT, we were so fortunate to stay in the Hotel de la Ville. The staff was. incredibly friendly and so helpful. In spite of the circumstances, the staff always had a smile for us. Our accommodations were beautiful, clean and spacious. The morning breakfast was very good. The hotel is within steps of the shopping district, and just a block from the Duomo.

Dear Ms. Susan, thanks for the nice words You wanted to reserve us, especially at a time like this are particularly appreciated. We are sorry that you have arrived in our Country and in our City in an absolutely dramatic moment in which the epidemic of the COVID-19 virus was developing. I often find myself thinking of a phrase from scouts association founder Sir Robert Baden-Powel "The best way to overcome difficulties is to attack them with a magnificent smile." I know that this is also true for my colleagues here at De La Ville. Today our thoughts and our prayers go to all those who are suffering and to those who in other parts of the World are starting this challange which we will overcome. Thanks again for your words. We hope to have you back here again when we all finally get back to the life we were used to. Best regards from Florence. Marco Zanella Customer Realtions Manager
