This was our second visit to Giacomo Arengario, our first being before the pandemic. Our first visit back was excellent and we were happy to see that nothing had changed. Both times we were able to be seated in the enclosed veranda area with good views of the Duomo and the its square, which of course only adds to the dining experience.
The last time we visited, as a started we had an amazing pork ravioli that we still talk about to this day. It wasn't on the menu this time, but I still ordered a ravioli instead of an appetizer (Bottoni triglia, caprino e limone), while my wife had the scallops (Capasanta, cavolfiore e melograno) . The ravioli was just an excellent his time as last, though now it was fish with a red sauce rather than pork with white. The scallops were so good we ordered a second helping.
My wife then had Spaghetti alle vongole veraci, while I had Brasato di maiale e crema di patate e porri. Again, both were excellent and the waiter helped us select an excellent swine which went well with our choices.
I have seen some complaints about cost on the site, but to be honest, you are also paying for the setting. The food, wine, service, and setting were all excellent and justified the costs in our minds. And if you don't want to pay it, there are cheaper choices in the area. My wife especially likes to frequent the same restaurants on each visit to a city, though we always explore new choices, and Giacomo has become one of our two choices for Milan, and we will be sure to visit once on each trip.
This was actually our first meal during this recent trip to Milan, as we had just arrived, checked into our hotel, and walked the few hundred metters to where the Duomo is. So it was nice to sit down in a familiar spot on our first evening.

The food was decent even though the price was exaggerated and the portion was too small. The presentation was good though more like a fine dining but the flavour wasn’t fine at all I would say.. The spaghetti was too salty as well as the risotto. We also ordered the salad for around 10 euro and all they gave us was vegetables no sauce or seasoning at all. We all went there for six people and ordered 7 plates and still was not full and the overall bill cost around 260 euro. I was expecting the view of the duomo when we came in but then they put us at the back of the restaurant. The service was pretty decent but they charged us 8 euro for service. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE

Nice location, food was just ok, especially considering the price. The host guy and the waiter were nice and trying for best, but taking the order was late, food came late, you had to wait 10 minutes for a waiter in general. they really need more staff.

Visited Giacomo Arengario for a special dinner, our anniversary. The excellent service started from the booking process, with staff very friendly and helpful, do not believe the negative reviews!
A special mention to Ms Marta, thanks you for your help!
As it was a special dinner I have arranged for a local florist to deliver flowers and rose petals for the table, which Giacomo Arengario staff decorated beautifully!!!! The table was in excellent position with a view to die for.
The food was simply superb, tagliolini with white truffle were divine, and the beef with artichokes and polenta. The wine list is impressive, with options for all budgets.
This is definitely one of the best places in Milan, I cannot recommend it enough!

The menu here was expectedly pricey which wasn’t an issue due to the location but 22 euros for plain tomato pasta is just criminal. The Milanese risotto with veal was very nice but very simple for the price. The staff were friendly enough.

We feel sorry to make a reservation at this place while expecting a good view and good services but none of them happened to us.
The service is poor especially the white skin old waitress in black jacket look arrogant and careless. She is a big mistake in the service team and should be stay away from her. We asked to change the table but she did not want to do for us and let us seated in the worst place when we arrived at the very first table for dinner time.
Food is good but the cover charge at 8 Euro per person is too much. I feel that it is not worth to visit this place. Pls save your money and spend somewhere else that is more friendly and welcoming.

5 different waiters telling us different things while serving at us. Very unproffessional. Food partially good. Good view, but not a good excuse for the unproffessional service. So many good places to use as reference for good service in Italy. Sorry - not worthy of a place.

Wonderful views of the Duomo. We did feel quite rushed and the staff was not very friendly. Food was good but we have had better in Milan. The view is what made it worth it.

Found this place through the Michelin guide who i'm honestly starting to doubt as just like in a few previous times, this place was a terrible recommendation, it has a fantastic location next to Milan's iconic Duomo, but it really felt like a tourist trap, from the tables with a view being overly congested, to poor food and drinks (i mean you are in Italy, the home of so many wonderful ingredients and they still couldn't deliver) to being generally overpriced, i would say avoid this place.
