La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham LAX receives mixed feedback, with travelers commending its airport proximity while noting its distance from popular attractions. While the airport shuttle service and nearby dining are popular, guests express disappointment with the unexpected expenses like parking fees. Furthermore, opinions on cleanliness and maintenance vary, and many find rooms fall short of expectations, citing noise issues and occasional overcharging. Service quality also garners criticism, particularly regarding the responsiveness of staff and shuttle service.

We were part of a larger group staying for a week and working in Pasadena, so we weren't enormously impressed that we had to drive across LA every day. Although the traffic was heavy at times (we had to allow 90 mins), it wasn't so bad. The staff were pretty helpful and friendly, the room was large and comfortable and ours was at the back, away from the lifts. Others said the rooms on the street side were very noisy and the lifts were likewise. One complained about the A/C - seriously! I think it's a background buzz that masks other noise - not that I like it unless it's really hot as it's bad for the planet and makes the air too dry. One of our party changed rooms and was very much happier, and the staff made the process easy. I met a very helpful maintenance man who helped me with the laundry room and the security staff were fun. The food was pretty basic but fine, especially for those only staying overnight. There were other restaurants nearby for variety. The bar staff were tolerant of us staying up late and the breakfast staff kind when we had to leave early. All in all, this is not a destination hotel you'd go to for a holiday but it was a great business choice, or for a layover near the airport. Just ask for a room at the back, away from the lifts. Our room cleaner was super efficient and replaced everything daily.

Perhaps it doesn't matter if one is only staying overnight to fly in or out of LAX; however, we were in a two-room suite for five nights. The trash was overflowing, and we had no cleaning supplies to do our own cleaning because who expects to need that in a hotel. We asked for maid service on one occasion and were told they don't do that even though the CA guidelines require all surfaces in a guest room to be cleaned daily and requests for cleaning to be accommodated. In our case, it was fine not to have cleaning every day of our stay, but for a 5-night stay when we've requested it, to at least empty trashcans and clean other surfaces, this is unacceptable. Much of L.A. has reopened, so they need to get with the program here & return to more normal procedures, in compliance with Los Angeles health requirements. Also, the "grab and go" brown bag breakfast is ridiculous. It seems as if this hotel is now using COVID as an excuse not to incur expenses, although Los Angeles is now more or less reopened. I would give 0 stars for service if that were an option.

Airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes so convenient for our arrival into LAX - if you have a departing flight after 9pm beware this is rush hour at the airport and took over 30 minutes to get to the terminal...!!!
Check in at hotel easy
Room comfortable enough and clean - we had pillows that had plastic pillow cases but they advised they are the hypoallergenic ones and replaced with regular ones
We were roadside on the 8th floor and had no trouble with noise but then we had travelled from UK so very tired
I heard people complain about car parking charges at $33 a day which I and they thought a bit steep
Breakfast was so busy and it is not your expected buffet style. You have to join a long queue and hand over a token and offered scrambled egg or scrambled egg with chorizo, sausage, potatoes. They are tight with the tiny sausages, I got given 2 although most people were given 3. The rest is toast and cereals with a choice of coffee, OJ or water. Certainly not my idea of an inclusive breakfast but it seemed popular.
The bonus was a 24 hour Subway across the road
We had booked 2 nights here and felt rested for our next leg so I would recommend this hotel for a quick layover.

This is a great three star hotel. It is basic, clean, offers free wifi, and a free airport shuttle. They need to change the automatic message about the airport shuttle on their answering machine. The shuttle no longer picks you up outside the baggage claim - you have to go up to level 2. We waited 33 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Breakfast was included and is very good given the price of the hotel - waffles, fruit, yogurt, bakery items, eggs, sausages, etc.
We asked if they offered a day stay rate since our plane didn't leave until 9pm but they didn't, so we booked Holiday Inn for $89USD which is directly behind La Quinta. I realised when packing at 4:30pm that I had left my jacket back in the cupboard at La Quinta and went and retrieved it. The room hadn't yet been cleaned, so it was disappointing for the hotel to not have offered a day stay rate since the room wasn't occupied anywhere.
The reception area was very small and when we arrived we were lucky to be at the front of the shuttle which made us then at the start of the check in line. There was about 15 groups all trying to check in and only two people behind the counter.

This worked out well for an early morning departure. Handicapped parking was near the lobby entrance, and breakfast was convenient and satisfying. The week of parking was very reasonable, and the car was immediately available upon return. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant stay, park, and fly experience. Well done.

The hotel tried to charge us parking when we arrived, even though I purchased a room that included parking for a week. They eventually agreed to honor the reservation, but didn’t seem happy about it.

Then the 8am shuttle to LAX didn’t show up. We had to wait for the 8:30 shuttle, which didn’t arrive until 8:45.

The restaurant also changed the time of breakfast to 8am. Because we were asked to be outside at 7:50 for the 8am shuttle we missed breakfast (they advertised 7am breakfast on Saturday). We we missed breakfast for no reason, and arrived 45 minutes late to the airport.

To top it off, the electric outlets in the room shutoff after 30 minutes. I use a medical CPAP machine, and so this energy saving meadur3 meant I woke up every half hour to turn my machine back on. The staff didn’t know how to stop this from happening.

A disappointing visit to this hotel.

The recent modifications on this property have made it a much nicer place to stay. There is shuttle service to the airport and a laundry room, both of these making it a great stop on your way home from a trip. The hotel was almost empty and could not serve breakfast when we were there due to the lockdown in LA but they did there best to make us comfortable.

We were very happy with our stay. It was a quick overnight stay but very accommodating and very clean the rooms were quiet everything that we needed was there. We did not have a chance to have breakfast because we had to leave too early to catch our flight. what we like about la Quinta is that they are usually very consistent which makes it a no-brainer when you need to stay someplace

We chose to stay at the La Quinta by Wyndham on West Century Boulevard in Los Angeles since it was close to the LAX Airport. We took a Carnival cruise to the Mexican Riviera, which was wonderful.
However, when we returned to the La Quinta after our cruise, we were informed, rather rudely, that check-in was not until 3pm.
Several others had chosen the same hotel and the lobby was full of both people and luggage.
After waiting over two hours, I asked Stephanie at the front desk, if she thought our room might be ready soon.
Instead of responding with even just a bit of concern or empathy, she said very curtly, "our check-in is at 3pm".
Of course, we already knew that, because that was the same response she had given two hours previously. However, since the lobby was getting full and one man was even laying on a couch snoring, I thought I would ask.
Additionally, this hotel charges $25 per night for parking, which was not indicated to us at the time of booking.
Bottom line, I highly recommend you find another hotel in Los Angeles
and steer clear of Stephanie, the rude front desk person at La Quinta, by Wyndam on West Century Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Customer Service 101 is highly needed!

I would like to preface this review with the fact that I understand the pandemic is still effecting your hotel and California residents. What I would like to talk about is the fact that none of your staff could give me a clear expectation of how the pandemic is effecting your guests. When we arrived I explicitly asked what the cleaning policy was under the rules and regulations regarding COVID. The employee told me they aren't allowing staff to clean rooms every day, but if requested they would clean the room within 24-48 hours of the request. We were there for a total of 3 nights which means our room should have been cleaned at the very minimum once if not twice. I advised the employee we wanted our room cleaned at the very soonest opportunity and as many times as allowed. When we got to our room there were dirty towels in the bath tub, so I lost all confidence that that room had even been cleaned before our arrival. Before we left for the night the employee assured us he would send staff to clean the room and make sure everything was good. We formally requested the room be cleaned the next tight (since it was dirty when we arrived) and he said that was possible. Next night we arrived and bed sheets were still the same and nothing had been touched. We requested a THIRD time for the room to be cleaned and by the next (third night) upon arrival nothing was touched. My fiancé went down to speak to staff and the story had changed. They weren't allowed to clean at all, only between guests arriving and leaving. We had no option but to return to the same dirty sheets and room. We even requested clean sheets and we would do the work and we received nothing. The worst part of this entire stay was the last night...the room across from us was having quite the party.. This started around 9 PM and the "party" didn't end until around 2 AM. The entire hallways including OUR room smelled like Marijuana and this entire hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. I called security but to no avail. Every time one of their party guests entered the door opened and the sound and smell woke me up. After calling and asking hotel staff nothing was done to lower the volume of the music. I feel like since we already paid our entire bill the staff didn't care to make our stay enjoyable or provide any service whatsoever. Worst part of the trip was 100% the service we received at this hotel.
