Got lucky in the Advance Ballot and got a tee time for the Old Course. The gloomy weather and light drizzle didn’t detract from the experience! The golf was great, treading the course where the pros have played. A caddie is recommended as there are many blind shots where it is not obvious where you have to aim for. And they are the best gauge of whether the ball is still playable where you hit it. With the amount of rounds played, the fairways were a bit divot marked in areas, but greens were well-kept and bunkers well-raked (😉). Overall a great experience!

Fantastic small distillery allowing to get up close to the process. Early years of aging and production, will be fun to visit annually and follow progression. Easy trip from St Andrews.

We took a day trip to St. Andrews and had a quick pop in to see the most famous Bridge in golf. I have seen it on TV but standing on the bridge in person was awesome.

Plenty of time to walk around the town and visit the greens for a little putting. We loved trying to search out all the charity Scotties as well.

St Andrews West Sands Beach is a very beautiful beach, a great place for a relaxing long walk by the sea. I will definitely go there again when in St Andrews.

What a treat we enjoyed on our 'personal' Darney's Gin tour. Jenny was our marvellous guide who was such a font of knowledge and clearly loved her job. It was an informative and interesting tour, the set up of which has clearly been planned to ensure maximum engagement and enjoyment. We would thoroughly recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

What a great place for a fun day out. I visited with my partner and my adult brother who has learning disabilities. Everyone was very friendly especially the lovely men on the train called Bruce and I think Keith.... apologies if I made that up 😅 They took so much time to chat to my brother who loves trains and they even let him sit in the driver's seat and wave the flags.
It was also so great that the park had a fully accessible and very clean changing spaces toilet which we appreciated. They are hard to find and much needed by so many people so thank you for being so inclusive.
Free entry, lots of parking, we bought a set of three wristbands for £27 which was great value as you could go on all the rides as many times as you wanted to. A great wee cafe aswell and lots of pretty picnic spots.
Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

We took part in the Halloween Virtual Gin Tasting Saturday 31st October. Adam was our host. He was engaging, funny and had a great knowledge of the subject.

The presentation of the gins was excellent and the tasting did not disappoint. This is an excellent purchase for any gin lover and made for a fun night in.

This is probably the best virtual gin tasting there is. Can’t recommend this enough.

Went to this lovely place to see the snowdrops in bloom. They have over 200 varieties and everything is well labelled and well laid out. It’s such a tranquil place with plenty of opportunities to sit and relax or eat a picnic lunch. We opted to eat in their café. This was very busy but our order was taken quickly and arrived equally speedily. It was delicious! We both had a toasted sandwich which came with a ‘cup’ of homemade soup. The ‘cup’ was actually a small bowl. Brilliant value for £10.95 each.

Excellent displays and information showing the development of the game overall and in St. Andrews. The book selection in the gift shop seemed very limited considering the depth of golf literature opportunities.

This 2 mile long sandy beach is bordered with grassy dunes sprinkled with wildflowers, and fringed with intriguing rock formations - some of which are the remnants of a lush forest that grew here in the late Carboniferous period 310 million years ago. If you know what you’re looking for , plant and insect fossils and tracks can be found here, some in situ. It’s a designated Blue Flag bathing area, and the water is amazingly translucent in places. There’s a spacious ticketed car-park, public toilets and a snack shack, plus as it’s part of the Fife Coastal Path , you can stretch your legs for as long or short as you like.

St Andrews Aquarium is a lovely day out for the kiddos. My wee 2½ yr old had a fab time looking at all the species of aquatic creatures. All the tanks were clean and well kept. All the animals looked healthy and happy. My only critique in regards to enclosures, would be for the large snapping turtle - his tank looked too small for his size and I did feel a bit sad for him. If he got moved to a bigger enclosure it would definitely leave people with a much more positive reaction when observing him.
As for the variety, there is a wonderful selection of different animals/fish to see. We were surprised to see monkeys, penguins, meerkats and other reptiles at the aquarium (I absolutely demand everyone MUST see the little marmoset monkeys in their cute hanging baskets - I died of cuteness!!)
The aquarium itself was very clean and tidy, nicely decorated and with atmospheric music playing to add to the experience. My daughter especially loved the dinosaur fossils etched on the walls! We also enjoyed attending the talks for the sharks and the meerkats - the staff members were full of knowledge and very insightful. The gift shop was great as well, full of toys, games, crystals, plushies and sweets, ideal for kids. We were a little bit disappointed about the cafe - the waitress told us they only do take away despite them having tables and chairs outdoors and a table inside. After walking around the aquarium it would have been nice to get a seat and enjoy some coffee and cakes without rushing to leave.
As a whole, we definitely enjoyed our day out. It took us roughly half an hour to see the whole aquarium, which for a whole day out did seem a bit short considering the price point as well. I do think the aquarium needs a few tweaks here and there. Maybe add some more activities for kids such as an educational room, a photo booth or some kind of sensory experience to add to the duration of the visit, but other than that we had a lovely day and you can't beat the view of St Andrews coast line just at the aquariums door step! We'll make another visit again in the future for sure.

Such a lovely day here, it’s so peaceful and relaxing. There are lots of areas to sit and watch the world go by. We also saw a red squirrel and a deer while wandering around.
