We were quick to be seated, though the lunch crush caused some delay in getting our food. Nonetheless, the fare was tasty and ample. The Bahama Mama sausage (which I ordered without the bread) is one of their signature offerings, and left a wonderful taste in my mouth long after we left. Schmidt's has become my go-to place for good food and lively ambiance when I'm in Columbus.

We loved the food here! Everything we had was amazingly delicious. We loved the German potato salad, bratwurst, meatloaf, and my kids had the Bavarian ham and cheese sandwiches and the famous cream puff. Wonderful service and I loved reading about the history of the family business and the building.
They also have an easy-to-use allergy menu our server provided for me that helped so much with ordering.

We had a great lunch here on a Friday as e traveled from Cincinnati to Massillon Ohio. It was our first visit but it won’t be ur last. Quaint place with a market selling their pastries and sausages and of course a German Restaurant with a small bar.
Service was excellent and the food was great. We shared a bowl of the potato soup that was great. Then my wife had their cabbage rolls and I had the Wiener Schnitzel. Both were great and a couple of Warsteiner draft beers helped too.
We finished up by sharing a crème puff that was amazing.
Please try this restaurant if you haven’t already done so.

Always love Scmidts. Had 2 in our group that had never been there and they too very much liked it. Turkey rueben, traditional rueben, stuffed cabbage and of course desserts of apple strudel German chocolate cake and of course the Schmidt's cream puffs!

We all enjoyed our meals. Probably the best Ruben I have had including the ones I had in Ireland. This sauerkraut was soooo good. And the soft pretzel with beer cheese ummm… delicious. I wish this place existed in Montana. It took me back to my PA Dutch roots & I loved it.
You do need to wait so make sure you get there plenty of time before you’re actually wanting to eat. They also lost my reservation but we were still able to get in so make sure you go check on your wait time occasionally.
We did not see the according players but heard that is fun & chaotic at the same time. We loved the atmosphere & my party enjoyed the unlimited sausage platter but wished it had toothpicks saying what each sausage was.

Schmidt’s
From the outside, this place looks great. Walking in the door you realize that it does not disappoint. The staff is super friendly. There is polka music playing in the background and the decor is spot on! The menu is well put together and not overly large. We ordered the sausage sampler, the chicken schnitzel with beer cheese and the kraut balls. Everything was very good. The mustard with the kraut balls was very flavorful. The sausage was great and the portion was just right. We also had cream puffs that were very rich and flaky. Great food and atmosphere.

Fantastic lunch! We had the sausage, sampler platter, and the Reuben, plus we got the peanut butter, chocolate, cream, puff, and the German chocolate cake for dessert. The service was great and very quick. The food was fantastic.

I spent 2 years from 81-83 in Germany was really excited about trying this place. I was working a race in Hebron, Oh. And was staying in Heath about 40-45 minutes away. So it was quite a drive to even get there.
Sat at the bar and the young man took my order which was Currywurst for the appetizer and then I’d order dinner once I seen how I felt after having that. The Currywurst was just ok in my opinion. I still have a good memory of what it tasted like in Germany and this was not it. Close though.
I did order Sausage stew to go which was supposed to have peppers and onions and a sauce with different types of sausages. Sounded really good. I drive back to my hotel and when I opened it up all that it had was pasta and some sausage covered with some heavy BBQ sauce. I never did see peppers or onions. Just wasn’t what I expected.
Might try again and get a more traditional dinner.

First time visit. My wife is in a wheelchair currently and it is difficult to get into the restaurant but understand that the restaurant had to adapt. As soon as you enter, are the display cases of sausages and desserts. Delicious looking desserts. Makes you want dessert first, then the meal. Very friendly staff. Ashley, our server, was great. Ordered the sausage sampler and ham and cheese sandwich. Wonderful food. Too full to eat dessert there but ordered a piece of German chocolate cake and a chocolate cream puff to go for later. Wish we could have taken one of each of the other desserts too.

I was excited to visit Schmidt’s, but then disappointed that none of the staff speaks Deutsch.
The schnitzel was pretty good, but not as good as I enjoyed at several restaurants in Germany.
My wife and I both enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It could be made better by hiring a German speaking waiter or waitress.

Schmidt's Saussage Haus in the Germantown district in South Columbus was part of a tour we took with friends. There was a little confusion upon arrival as they expected us 15 minutes later than we arrived (turns out that the contact person for the restaurant was on vacation)- but the staff pulled things together for us with humor and style.
The accordionist had not had time to dawn his full German attire- but he gave a great performance laced with humor and a lot of fun.
The food was delicious on the buffet. The sausage was as delicious as expected (both varieties), and the chicken was a real treat, along with German Potato Salad, rolls, green beans, and, the house specialty- cream puffs.
Everyone raved at the meal and music-- a fun afternoon.
