The Big Picture

  • Matt Barr returns as Hoyt when a past heist involving a stolen necklace resurfaces in Season 4.
  • Walker revisits Hoyt's criminal past through flashbacks while building the relationship between Cordell and Geri.
  • A sneak peek flashback reveals Hoyt stealing a necklace from a museum, leading to an investigation in the present.

Wherever Hoyt is, trouble always follows him — or he seeks it out. Matt Barr played Hoyt Rawlins in Walker before the character was killed off, and Barr moved to play Hoyt's ancestor in Walker: Independence. Barr is one of the two actors from the spin-off set to appear in the flagship series. Justin Johnson Cortez was cast to play Detective Luna, and a new look into Walker courtesy of TV Line reveals how the show plans to bring Hoyt back. It wouldn't be a Hoyt moment if something thrilling wasn't happening, possibly something criminal. This time, he's stealing a necklace from a museum full of people.

In Walker Season 4 Episode 5, "We've Been Here Before," Stella and August learn that the necklace surrounding the Witt fiasco belonged to Hoyt's family in the 19th century and was stolen from a museum several years ago. They drew the natural conclusion that Hoyt had something to do with it. In the video on TV Line, Walker takes us back to when Hoyt was in his prime years, and pulling off heists was not a big deal.

Is Hoyt Actually Back From the Dead?

The video's editing clearly shows that it's a flashback and that Uncle Hoyt is not back from the dead. He makes his way into a museum where everyone is preoccupied with checking out the displayed items, but he's there with another goal in mind. He scans the room and heads for the fire alarm, which he pulls despite the fact that there is no fire. The ringing sound causes commotion as people try to exit the building, giving him the perfect opportunity to grab a necklace he had surveyed before. A security officer sees him stealing it and tries to apprehend him, but Hoyt makes it out of the building to a getaway car.

He starts chatting with the car's driver as he checks out the merchandise. "I don't like that look. ... Don't get attached to something we're hawking," the other guy says. It is clear that he doesn't know the significance of the necklace because Hoyt's already attached to it. Another person's existence during the heist provides a lead for Augie and Stella to follow and learn what's so interesting about this necklace that people are being hunted over it.

Cordell and Geri's Relationship Grows

In Episode 6, "We All Fall Down," Cordell tries to build a relationship between his kids and Geri. Things are getting serious between them to the point where Geri is moving in, so it is only natural that he wants them to know each other better. Unknown to him, August and Stella are keeping a secret and are not really looking to bond right now. They follow some leads as they try to figure out why someone is terrorizing Stella, and the episode's promo teases a breakthrough when they find the guy who was on the necklace heist with Hoyt. Elsewhere in the Jackal case, Cassie, Trey, and Walker prepare themselves for what Captain James has planned for them.

Walker Season 4 stars Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, Odette Annable as Geri Broussard, Kale Culley as August Walker, Violet Brinson as Stella Walker, Keegan Allen as Liam Walker, Ashley Reyes as Cassie Perez, Mitch Pileggi as Bonam Walker, Molly Hagan as Abeline Walker, Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett and Coby Bell as Captain James. Recurring guest stars include Matt Pascua as Ben Perez, Richard Ellis as Witt, Saylor Bell Curda as Sadie, and Kearran Giovanni as Kelly.
