How to reset administrator password windows 10 no backup key

Hello,

After having my computer at a repair shop I decided to change the administrator password. I cannot remember my password or PIN.

I remember the old one, and the PIN to access another user on the computer but not the administrator.

There are no recovery phrase options for the administrator, I have tried hold shift on start up screen and go to troubleshoot to reinstall windows, I select to save my files and then the computer loads and comes back with the select administrator account and enter password.

Obviously I can't do this that is why I am trying this, then the only option is to restart the computer which does nothing except start over from the top.

Any ideas how I can reset my password?

    From the login screen, hold down the Shift key and click on the Restart button.

    Once you're in the Advanced Startup options, navigate to "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Command Prompt."

    • In the Command Prompt window, type the following command, pressing Enter after : net user administrator password (Replace "password" with your desired new password for the Administrator account)
    • If the command is successful, you'll see a message confirming the password has been changed.
    • Reboot.
