WITCHEL--Dr. Barbara, 84, died on July 25 of complications from vascular dementia in White Plains, N.Y. She was a beloved professor and administrator at Iona College for 35 years. Survived by her children and their spouses: Alex Witchel and Frank Rich, Greg and Monica Witchel, Learan Kahanov, Emmett and Danielle Adler Witchel. Predeceased by her husband, Sam Witchel, and daughter, Phoebe Kahanov. She is also survived by her brother, James Goldfein, and cherished grandchildren: Ilan, Tal, Gideon, Shoshanna, Jacob, Thayer, Nathaniel and Simon. Funeral services private.

My deepest condolences to the immediate family of Barbara Witchel. She accomplished quite a lot during her lifetime,even overcoming a bout with polio. She will be missed. I am sure she is in a better place now.let her "rest in peace ".
