Sheriff Scott is on his way in the Colorado Rockies with a sworn and heavily armed posse. They chase four escapees led by Kaygo. The posse includes innkeeper Jaynes with his new telescoping 'Weatherbee 300 Magnum' rifle and 'Smitty', who wants to be as tough as a man. Scott soon finds out that Smitty has another, obscure reason for being part of his posse.
