Terrible service

We had a reservation last night at Ale Mary's. We arrived a few minutes early and were told by the rude hostess our table was not ready would not be avalable until our reserved time. We waited and approached the hostess stand again. We were once again told rudely that our table was not ready and they were not sure when it would be available. They were unwilling to sit us anywhere. Typically if there are multiple reservations they tell you that there is a limit at the table, clearly that was not done. Instead we were forced to try to find some place else to eat. The manager was apologetic, but he said there was nothing he could do.

Great spot for beer!

We were putting in some time wandering the downtown on a cool, wet day so stopped in here for a beer at the bar. (It was cool, so one of us did start with coffee which was excellent). Lots of beer options - so samples were offered to help us with our selection - appreciated. Nice little spot to sit and enjoy a beer or two!

Worst vegetarian burger ever

Went to this bar specifically because they advertised they had a vegetarian menu. Most of the vegetarian\vegan items on the menu are not vegetables, unless they are deep fried (French fries, chili cheese fries, onion rings, fried pickles) and vegan burgers\hot dogs. Most of the items would be carried at any other bar. I ordered an impossible burger, which was terrible. It was a plain impossible burger with a dime sized amount of ketchup and a dime sized amount of mustard on a small plain white hamburger bun that was pretty tasteless. For a $13 veggie burger I expected more. I tried to get more ketchup\mustard, toppings, but the waitress was so busy I couldn't get her attention. Will not return.

We had a wonderful lunch outside on the sidewalk yesterday. Wonderful menu selection and huge vegan selection. They have the best french friesI have ever had in my life and my daughter had the crispy chicken sandwich which was outstanding. Of course they have a huge beer selection and cocktails. Service was very friendly and fast and I definitely will return

We went for lunch after the zoo. For starters we split the Asian Sesame wings. The wings were good with a tasty Asian sauce. We each had a Beer cheese Burger with fries. We highly recommend that burger. Great craft beer selection. Devin was our server. He was friendly and recommended food and beer options. We will be back.

One of my favorite downtown Royal Oak hot spots! Always a great craft beer selection!! Good menu but nothing standout in my opinion as far as that goes. It's a very small place, so expect to wait a bit or go during the week. Always a good time. Great bartenders.

Me and hubby went there in Presidents’ Day for lunch , I’m vegan and he’s not so we both can order with ease , I had the best vegan chicken sandwich I’ve ever had and I’ve been vegan 3 years , we’ve been back like every week since , the vegan milkshakes are to die for !! Chicken and waffles are plentiful and I’m going back on my birthday with the family , half are vegan and the rest , oh too bad for them

Good food and friendly waitstaff

My daughter is a vegetarian and we always look for places that we all can enjoy a good meal. I had a burger and she had her vegan chicken sandwich and we were both happy. Good selection of drinks. The place is very small and the waits are long (we were there Sunday afternoon).

Great bar... deep whiskey bench!

Great bar, with a good amount of beer on tap and a deep whiskey bench! Food is tasty, much better than the average bar. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, set in an old bar-setting with exposed brick and tin ceilings. Service was perfect. I enjoy going there when I’m in the area and can confidently recommend.

Great vegetarian food

I had the vegetarian hot dogs with impossible chili. Others had the chicken sliders. Both were very good. The fries are excellent. Salads were also good. The beer selection is amazing and overwhelming. Service is good and the staff is very friendly. My only issue is the booth along the wall is a little short so it's a little difficult to sit in.

Friday night out

I was in Royal Oak for the first time and had dinner at Ale Mary’s. Our waiter, Matthew, was very friendly. Service was first class. I had the fish and chips. My husband had the Mark Cuban sandwich. My son had the Beer Burger. Everything was tasty. I highly recommend dinner at Ale Mary’s.

This was the second time we went there. Both times they were out of what we went for which was the vegan chicken fingers. The food we had was good but nothing to make us go back. If you aren’t vegan it’s probably wonderful.😊
