Northbrook High School Reviews
Rating 3.63 out of 5 384 reviews
My overall experience while being at Northbrook High School was great I'd give it a 6/10. Teachers sometimes wouldn't even try to teach and would hangout assignments and tests later on they would blame students for the scores. Some teachers were understanding and would show their passion for teaching you could just tell who loved teaching and who did not. The safety is not good there would be fights, weapons, and drug possession, even shooting threats. It didn't matter if the police was there students will fight and would disrespect the officers. They would not let students order food so we had to eat the food they would give out. Food was terrible there would be mold on the burger patty even hair on the cut up fruit. The only thing that made my high school experience great were two of my closest friends and two teachers that I was grateful to have.
I attended yes prep north brook high school and graduated with the class of 2020. We have many diverse students in this school, including diverse teachers. I recommended my high school to my cousins, because I feel that Yes prep Northbrook provides the support that many students in low and middle income families need- which was the majority of the students attending at school. And i don’t mean this in the sense of financial support, but many like myself are first generation graduates and we don’t always have or have had that extra support because unfortunately our families sometimes were not able to receive more education than elementary school or middle school. In addition, every teacher i had in all my years - showed their true passion for teaching and for us- the students. I am proud to say I am a Yes prep Northbrook student alumni.
During my time at this school, there have been ups and downs. At school you will have a community to fit in with, but there will still be struggles during class. I didn't have teachers for most of my duration at being at this school, but I met good people who helped me with the good and bad times.
