America’s favorite guessing game reached a dramatic conclusion on Monday with the unmasking (hint, hint!) of Claim to Fame‘s four remaining celebrities — and the winner of Season 2.
Somewhat predictably, the first hour ended with Gabriel eliminating Karsyn, whose celebrity relative — she’s the niece of NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt Jr. — had already been named by several players. Gabriel being the one to send Karsyn home also felt very salt-in-wound, as she was still processing the discovery that he lied to everyone all season about his own famous family member. Needless to say, she’ll probably never be able to watch The Masked Singer again without questioning her life choices. (Then again, who among us can?)
The first half of the finale also gave us a moment that changed everything: Gabriel and Monay finally, and we do mean finally with a capital “F,” figured out Chris’ secret celebrity relative. The information they’ve collected has been Blue’s Clues-level obvious (a ’70s teen idol from Utah who wore a coat of many colors?!), so it actually took them much longer than it should have, but better later than never.
Whereas Chris was once considered untouchable — or as Gabriel referred to him, an “unkillable cockroach” — he entered the second half of the finale with a massive target on his back, one that got even bigger when Gabriel won the final challenge, granting him the power to select the final guessers.
Putting his trust in the alliance he forged with Monay, Gabriel let her guess first, an opportunity she used to confirm Chris as the son of Utah’s own Donny Osmond. Following a lovely video message from the man himself, the moment Gabriel and Monay had been dreading finally arrived.
Standing alone as the season’s final two, Gabriel confidently guessed Monay’s father to be comedian J.B. Smoove, solidifying him as the show’s latest $100,000 winner. That might sound like a lot of money, but when your brother is Nick Cannon, that’s basically an annual gift budget for your nieces and nephews. (We’d mention Cannon’s exact number of children, but it could change by the time you read this, so why bother.)
Cannon’s younger brother celebrated his historic victory with a little rap: “I’ve been through times of faith, times of doubt, there’s times I thought I was out, but now I’m about to shout!”
“Enjoy that new claim to fame,” Cannon told him via video message. “Loan me some money.”

Gabe literally coasted through the whole season because people assumed they knew who he was. And it won him the season.
Yeah, but he was the reason why they went down that wrong path with him. He fooled them the very first exercise (2 Truths and 1 Lie). Every single player in that house took his word that his Claim to Fame was in sports. It was a brilliant lie that he was able to keep up until the very end.
Exactly. It was a great strategy.
When you say someone is “coasting” through a competition, it’s not usually a compliment.
Someone can coast through a competition because it’s so easy…
I meant it in a positive way. Everyone thought they had him pegged so no one focused on him.
I’m so happy and proud of Gabe. Winning after Carly called him not smart!.
Monay killed it!
Chris managing to fool everyone was amazing. His whole face was a clue.
They better bring it in season 3. Because this season was top tier!
Yes! I think it was the clue about the coat of many colors where I figured it out. But, once I realized it was Donny Osmond, I couldn’t unsee it. He looks so much like him!
I knew Chris’s celebrity connection was Donnie Osmand before the show even started, but then again, I’m 62 years old so I saw the physical similarity
I was actually rooting for Chris. I’m a bit young for being a Donny Osmond fan, since I was born in 1980. But, I knew who his family member was at the clue about the coat of many colors. He was incorrectly guessed so many times. I just wanted to see him make it all the way. But, I guessed Nick Cannon for Gabe back when it showed his celebrity relative has many children. It was only a passing thought as I thought he was still related to a sports star, I think, at that point. But, I figured it out at least a couple of episodes ago. I’m glad he was able to keep his secret pretty much the whole season. He did a great job and his game play was solid. Kudos to Gabe!
How none of them did not know that Chris was Donny Osmond’s son is shocking Ok, I know they’re young and weren’t as familiar as some of us boomers but from the first episode it was so obvious to me he was Donny Osmond’s son! He’s his clone His mini-me He looks exactly like his very cute Dad Fun show to watch!
Well and for I believe Chris it had 7th son and that is correct and then with money worked with Tom Holland in the spider man trilogy and I knew Chris from day 1 and then in the board challenge with Gabe everyone knows who the host of the masked singer is
Except for Chris, who said he didn’t know the name of the host of The Masked Singer…
Which is hilarious considering that his father Donnie, actually competed on the 1st season of Masked Singer as the Peacock and actually came in 2nd place! 🤦🏾♀️😂 Oh Chris….
I was also surprised Dolly Parton’s niece didn’t guess it since she was probably the oldest one of the whole group.
Gabe was a hard one to figure out that’s why he won. I really enjoyed this season.
Its funny how no one until tonight figured Chriscas Donny Osmond son because hevlooks exactly like him! I was expecting Chris or Monay to win
Monay didn’t figure out anythinv! She saw the lunchbox, which had Donny (and Marie) on the cover. No other participant’s relative was revealed with a picture; Chris’ shouldn’t have been, either. If not for this, Chris would have won. He got cheated out of his rightful win!
Could not believe that it took to the end to guess Chris’s identity. He is the spitting image of his father at that age. The clues were so obvious; puppy love, 70s pop idol and coat of many colours and comes from Utah. After Donny had such a long career. I am surprised that no one could figure him out. I pegged him the 1st week. ? Show a set up like so many competition shows. Won’t be watching again.
Or it could simply be a bunch of 20 somethings have no idea who Donny Osmond is. I know my 18 yr old niece and her friends don’t
I knew who Donny Osmond was because I watched him sing with his sister on tv and I’m also 50.
I was surprised they didn’t get Chris from the beginning. He looks exactly like his father and also surprised there is a season 1 as I never heard of the show before this year
Personally I don’t think Chris does look like Donny. Donny looks pretty plastic now. Monay was hard. But the Tom Holland clue should have eliminated the other guesse they were thining.
I will say I think it is extremely unfair to bring in the old contestants even if they were sequestered. They seemed pretty good about not directly sharing their knowledge. But some did. It really only came down to the final challenge as to who won.
Donny is 65 now. So, no, his son doesn’t look as much like Donny now as Donny did at that age. But, they look very similar if you take the differences in their age into consideration.
This season was amazing…. Relatives were shocking and not even on our radar… great job Claim to Fame!!
This is probably a hot take, but did anyone else think $100,000 (more like $75,000 after taxes) doesn’t really seem like all that much money for people who are all related to (and, in many cases, children of) multi-millionaire celebrities?
Was surprising how many said the money would be life changingin them given that their celebrity relative is multi-millionaire.
Maybe they prefer to make it on their own instead of mooching of their relative? Respect.
Love this show, so much fun to watch. I was really impressed with the celebrity connections this season. Lots of big names. Well done!
Great season and great finale. Loved that Gabriel & Monay made the final 2.
Whoever does the casting for this show needs a raise because they’ve nailed the casting for 2 straight seasons.
Didn’t think the last clue was fair. Even if they scratched out his eyes they basically gave them a picture of donny on the lunch box. Any other thoughts they may had would have been blown with Pic.
Especially when compared to gold glasses item for Monay. Gold glasses revealed nothing.
This show is so much fun. I figured them all out a few weeks ago. Hope it continues!
I was rooting for that adorable closeted Mormon, but Chris played an excellent game and deserved his win.
I don’t think the lunch box was fair!
I believe that most deserved of the group one, he needed it and I for one am happy that he did. Now on to the clues I feel it was truly and blatantly unfair to include Lucille Ball as a clue for Chris family relative. A tip in favor to help Chris win and throw off the other contestants! Extremely happy that it did NOT. I also feel it is very sad that these young contestants are in need of what is a drop in the bucket for their millionaire relatives. Their relatives live luxurious lives. It is shameful to know that they need a $100,000.00 to change their lives. How can you flaunt your wealth in some cases and not take care of your family members. I mean brothers and sisters. Not even ensuring employment on their various undertakings.
