KIN star Francis Magee, who plays the volcanic Bren Kinsella in the RTÉ One crime-drama, has revealed that he has yet to watch his stunning performance from Sunday night's episode.

Warning: spoiler alert!

In the penultimate episode, KIN fans were finally introduced to Bren.

He was visited in prison by his brother Frank (Aiden Gillen) and Bren's son Jimmy (Emmett J Scanlan). As the family tried to find some way out of their war with kingpin Eamon Cunningham (Ciarán Hinds), Frank begged Bren to take care of Frank's son Eric (Sam Keeley) inside.

With the fuse already lit by the time Bren reached the table, it wasn't long before Frank and Jimmy felt his wrath.

"I was super nervous before shooting the scene with Frank (Gillen) and Jimmy (Scanlan)," Magee admitted.

"Covid had closed everything down so I hadn't worked in ages. I had about 15 days' isolation to do before I got to set. It was bleak January/February... I had ample time to get the fear and fret that I wouldn't be able to do it anymore."

"It's always nerve-wracking to join a production that's already well underway, and I thought the scene was superbly written, so I was anxious to do it justice," he continued.

"Happily, the two lads were very welcoming, as were the fantastic crew. I've not had time to look at the episode or scene with me, Aidan and Emmett - so I hope it turned out ok.

"I met Aidan briefly in Malta whilst shooting Game of Thrones. I've always been a big fan of Aidan's, but this is the first time I've got to work with him. He didn't disappoint.

"I've been on shows that Emmett has also been in - but just worked with him once before on a great wee show called In the Flesh. Funny enough, I played his da in that one. I reckon he's far too handsome to have me as a father, but there ye go!"

Magee added that he would love to further explore the Kinsella family dynamics in the future.

"There is much history between Bren and Jimmy and it's all doused in highly flammable, sometimes toxic experiences between the two of them," he said. "I'm sure that, however, to see this unravelled in a future season would be fascinating."
