Georgia State University Reviews
Rating 3.72 out of 5 6,214 reviews
Overall, Georgia state is ok. Due to its location in downtown Atlanta safety is a tricky concern. I love the student involvement provided, and the activities are always fun! I would love to see more Housing provided and better communication with Financial Aid Office. It really is what you make it because you have the whole downtown at your fingertips, but it is a learning experience. I’ve had many highs and lows but I have definitely and grown into a self-sufficient adult. I would definitely recommend this university if you want a branch out, challenge yourself, and meet many different people.
My experience as a student at Georgia State University was developmentally enriching. Personally, it was easy to adjust to the flow of college life. GSU helped me grow socially by participating in interactive classes and other campus activities. I also grew academically through healthy competition and awakening my brain to new information, thus providing qualitative education. Life on campus tremendously enthralled me but there were challenges that arose from the city of Atlanta that could not go unnoticed. I had to be careful in the city, especially whilst walking to any destination further from campus. The establishment of a secure campus atmosphere through the efforts of the university was sometimes hard to maintain and I felt rather insecure when walking alone at night.
A good experience in college typically involves engaging with a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, building relationships with peers and professors, exploring new interests, and developing skills that will be valuable for future endeavors. To enhance the college experience, it is important to focus on improving areas such as mental health support services, access to affordable education, diversity and inclusion initiatives, career readiness programs, and technology integration for effective learning. By addressing these aspects, colleges can better support students in their personal growth and academic success.
