CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Empire National Bank building on Clarksburg’s West Main Street will soon undergo renovations and a rebranding, according to the City of Clarksburg.

The Empire National Bank building is one of the oldest buildings in Clarksburg and was auctioned off for $223,000 in August last year. Now, Nesting Owl LLC plans to revamp the building into a brewery, restaurant, office and residential building to become “a cornerstone of Clarksburg’s renaissance.”

The building, now called “Empire1907” after its construction date, has its own website that lists Nesting Owl’s planned amenities for the building:

  • Empire National Brewery will be a bank-themed brewery on the ground floor of the building. The brewery will also be paired with a Tex-Mex restaurant.
  • Early plans for the basement level include a bank-themed laser maze, a “speakeasy-style” area, a brewery tour, billiards and dart boards.
  • Upper floor plans include a fitness center, co-share workspace, corporate rentals and luxury apartments.

Empire1907’s website includes AI concept images of different spaces to show what floors may look like after renovations are completed. MVB Bank, which currently operates in the Empire building, has already committed to a five-year lease to stay in the building according to Empire1907’s website.
