Irma Vep es fantástica, es una crítica a lo superficial de los valores actuales de Hollywood, el priorizar una montaña de contenido de consumo rápido para llevar a los servicios de streaming anteponiendo al arte genuino que me parece que esta serie lo expresa de una buena forma, no tratado a este producto "Irma Vep" cómo diferencial o superior a otros, si no siendo un recordatorio de la magia que nos atrae de una película o serie con la que quedamos atrapados, el sentir algo más allá que el buscar el simple entretenimiento inmediato, solo dejarnos llevar por la narrativa. Algo que me gustó de la serie está en cómo exteriorizan la hipocresía del mismo medio, en cada episodio los protagonistas desmeritan los grandes "Blockbusters" y hasta los productos de otros colegas con los que desarrollan la serie; me parece interesante porque la misma serie cuestiona que es el mismo arte, porque en la realidad de la misma serie no sabemos si Irma Vep fue un éxito o fracaso, ya que tuvo un rodaje súper caótico, y hasta en momentos se ha dudado del talento de los realizadores de diferentes departamentos, y que lo dejaran tan ambiguo me pareció interesante para enfatizar esa interrogante, ¿cuál es la definición del arte? Y si es justificable o no la percepción un poco narcisista de los mismos personajes a la hora de indagar en ese tema. Para mí la protagonista de la serie es Regina, me parece que todo lo que la serie busca representar es lo que la define a ella, el buscar formar una carrera fuera de los grandes reflectores para crear algo honesto en el que nadie interponga sus decisiones creativas, ella me parece que es nuestro POV dentro de la construcción de la serie y cómo somos expectantes de la peor versión mostrada de cada uno de los que protagonizan este proyecto. Irma Vep expresa el proceso genuino de una producción, la falta de presupuestos, las batallas de ego por decisiones creativas, y lo difícil que se puede volcar por los mismos involucrados, pero intercalando con lo único de la creación de un medio cinematográfico con lo que todos podemos sentirnos cautivados, la luz de la necesidad creativa que opaca todo lo malo que puede llegar a involucrar, esta serie es una remembranza del porque amamos este medio.

Irma Vep, the show, shines as an essay on the 8th art, with very interesting points and eloquent quotes about what cinema means for us viewers but also for people working in the field. The characters feel true, annoying at time, but mostly relatable in their weakness. If you are not interested in discussion about art, creativity and human psyche thought the art of cinema, you may feel the show a little too slow and sometimes pretentious.
I could have given a perfect score but despite amazing "real life scenes" where we follow the actors and the movie staff going through all the issue that can happen in a movie set, the "movie scenes" are not as great. The extracts of the movie they are filming, that pops up here and there during the show, are not really well-done despite being presented as directed by the most artistic director while following the intriguing story of the 1915-movie Les Vampires. The colors and some special effects make it look like really amateurs which kind of take you out of the show as you are supposed to think this is a high-art movie.
Alicia Vikander is the perfect lead for this movie and it's perfectly believable as this magnetic actress that her characters is meant to be. She gives a very strong performance without having any big dramatic moment.

The scenario is insanely witty, production is excellent, actors perfect, director excellent. An 8 hours movie with twists ian inner plots which will challenge your mind and remind us for one more time what a clever story means.
