Columbus Alternative High School Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 287 reviews
Although the academic opportunities are outstanding, the quality of the building environment is very lackluster. Teachers are mostly great, but there are some very high profile exceptions. As for college readiness, the IB program offers a unique opportunity to earn college credit. That said, many classes can be quite boring and/or assign a lot of busy work, so doing college credit plus is a better option for those who can facilitate transportation.
Columbus Alternative is a really great academic based school that pushes its scholars to do better any chance they get. There is a welcoming community but it does have its downsides. The teachers can be seen as unhelpful because of the fact they already expect students to know some of the material without learning it first. We also don’t have any sort of sports, so overall CAHS is great for someone who just wants to learn.
The best thing about CAHS is that they make sure you are ready for college and pushes you to do your best. But this is also the worst thing as the work load gets harder than any regular school. My freshman year was the hardest for me since the transition from middle school to high school was huge.
