Moreno at Catigbian town gym

PRESIDENTIAL contender Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has offered himself for the presidential post, saying “I’m available” to set up what he envisioned as “simple government” once elected to the presidency.

In his campaign sorties here, Isko Moreno, 47, has vigorously campaigned for his slate with Dr. Willie Ong as his running-mate and senatoriables Bro. John Castriciones, Carl Balita, Atty. Jopet Sison and Samira Gutoc who also gave their messages.

He told a mammoth crowd that jampacked at Catigbian town’s gym he offers a “simple government” with what he has done in Manila as city mayor.

He said that he would try to reduce the prices of gasoline, electric and others. without mentioning how he would do it once elected as president.

He also offered the basics of the people, like housing, education, job and hospital or health that the people need.

He made mention of erecting a ten-storey hospital in Manila City complete with equipment, personnel and air-conditioned and other amenities as if one enters a Shangrila-like hotel.

He said he was elected at the age of 24 as manila city councilor and now he’s 47, serving the government for the last 24 years.

In saying “I’m available,” he offered himself after mentioning that for the last 39 years the country was governed what he called the “red” and “yellow-pink” without mentioning names.

But the political colors was an apparent reference to the Marcoses (21 years) and the Aquinos (18 years), now lately Vice-President Leni Robredo.

He said that the people gave them chance to help improve the people’s lives even if they had their share in the development but maybe lacking, but they’re all the same. “Pareho-pareho pa rin,” he said.

The two groups are warring, he said, but they failed to improve the living conditions of the people who gave them chance to do so.

Isko Moreno’s group, together with her son, Joaquin of the GMA 7, paid a courtesy call to Gov. Arthur Yap at the Capitol where a lot of employees had their chance of selfies and a snap for Moreno.

The group hurriedly breezed into waiting crowd in Catigbian after a brief courtesy call to Mayor Elizabeth Mandin, who called Moreno as Our next president” in introducing to the captive crowd.

The group was ably assisted by Benjie Oliva, a Boholano nominee for KOOP-KAMPI party-list in their all throughout the sorties.

They dropped by his supporters in Carmen briefly and a courtesy call to Mayor Jun Toribio then to Calape town where a throng waited for him and his slate at the biggest gym. But before that, he paid a courtesy call to Calape Mayor Nelson Yu and Vice-Mayor Junie Yu and the town officials but not without selfies all over the place when he passed by.
