Woman arrested on suspicion of GBH after stabbing in Oxford

Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following a stabbing in Blackbird Leys.

A man in his 20s was stabbed at an address on Druce Way, Blackbird Leys, and had a quantity of cash taken from him at around 10pm on Thursday (May 9).

The victim suffered a broken ankle and an abdominal wound.

He was taken to hospital but he has since been discharged.

The offenders were seen to get into a white compact vehicle at the scene. A white car also turned up at A&E with the victim.

Police have made a further arrest in connection with the incident.

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released on bail.

Two men, aged 19 and 31, both from Greenwich, London, a 31-year-old man from Kent and another man, who is aged 23 and also from Greenwich, were previously each arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

They have also been released on police bail.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Alexander McKend, of Oxford CID, said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation following this stabbing and aggravated burglary and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

“Our investigation is moving at pace and we have already made five arrests in connection with this incident.

“At this stage, we believe that this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public."
