Sixth Form provision was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in October 2023. Inspectors described the Sixth Form as 'the strength of the school' where students 'develop effective study habits to prepare them well for their next steps.'

Chingford Foundation School runs a thriving Sixth Form. Our aim is to develop students who are caring, resourceful, employable and well-qualified. We provide an academic environment that is committed to supporting each student individually to thrive, attain excellent qualifications, and move on to a high quality university, apprenticeship or employment. As soon as students join the Sixth Form, we work tirelessly to ensure they are on a pathway to success and excellence.

As part of our aim to provide the very best for students, we have invested heavily in a contemporary, attractive, university style learning and social space. We have expanded our floor space to host our growing Sixth Form intake to boast two collaboration rooms, digital information display boards, dedicated Sixth Form canteen and dining space, soft furnishing and stacked seating areas, an extensive study area with access to a wide range of ICT devices, a social space and team room.

Our reputation as a quality provider of Sixth Form education has become firmly established in Waltham Forest and beyond. Our students routinely say that it is the quality of the provision on offer and our reputation that attracted them to join us. Academically, you will see that there is a wide range of courses on offer at A-Level. I hope that you find the courses exciting and intriguing. We have a very broad curriculum that ensures students study the best courses for them after their GCSEs. We have a number of alternative qualifications including BTEC and Cambridge Technical qualifications to help all students follow a curriculum that will maximise their potential. All our post-16 courses are taught by a dedicated and talented team of teachers who are experts in supporting students to achieve the very best. Our teachers have high-level subject expertise to push students to think more deeply and critically than they ever have before. By the end of our time with us, we want to have developed learners of the highest quality: students who can think originally and independently, have a ferocious passion for furthering their knowledge, and who teachers and tutors find interesting to teach.

Alongside our academic curriculum, a huge priority for the Sixth Form is ensuring students receive the highest quality careers support and advice to help them on to the next stage of their lives. We have invested extensively in both technological and human resources to support students with their future prospects. Students will receive individualised support in both Year 12 and 13 so that they are fully prepared and ready to take on the world after Sixth Form.  

Underpinning all of these features, we have a highly committed pastoral team who support students in all aspects of their Sixth Form experience. Our form tutors and Heads of Year, alongside our student leadership team, ensure that all students feel welcomed and supported to thrive.

Applications for our Sixth Form are welcome from students taking GCSEs in any local school. Successful applicants will need to be committed to our aims and ethos, so that we can work together to ensure they succeed on their chosen courses.
