In the Ultimate Marvel universe, Thorlief "Thor" Golmen is a fictional superhero based on the Marvel Universe version of Thor, who is the Asgardian God of Thunder and a founding member of the Ultimates. Also known as "Ultimate Thor", Golmen is an anarchist who discovers he is the reincarnated Norse God of Thunder Mighty Thor.
Biography[]
Thor came to Earth in the modern era to warn the world about the conspiracies of the military industrial complex. That said, he is not so distrustful of the military that he would miss the noble qualities some of the Ultimates possess so he works with them when needed. One of the questions of the first two volumes is whether Thor is the actual Norse God of Thunder or a delusional super soldier. This gets resolved in the second volume.
Personality[]
This version of Thor was once a physchiatric nurse named Thorlief Golmen but he suffered a nervous breakdown before he turned 30. He spent eighteen months institutionalized but while he was he realized who he was and why he had been exiled to Earth. He realized he was Thor. He had been exiled to Earth as a human Thorlief Golmen. He claimed he was Thor the Norse god of thunder on a mission to save Earth and stop "the war to end all wars." Thor later joined the team of super heroes called the Ultimates. But at first when Nick Fury asked him to join he refused.

Asgardian God of Thunder Physiology:
- Superhuman Strength: Thor possesses vast supernatural strength limits of his strength are unknown. His strength allows him to lift 100 tons without any problem.
- Superhuman Durability:
- Superhuman Speed: Thor also possesses superhuman speed he can easily run faster than most vehicles.

- Atmokinesis: Thor possesses the ability to control the weather on a large scale. He is capable of summoning thunderstorms and controlling massive amounts of lightning. It is unknown if Thor can control other types of weather.
- Fulgurkinesis: Thor thanks to his weather power can summon lightning so powerful he instantly took down over 6 alien space ships, and a single one was stated to be over 5 blocks wide. He can create lightning powerful enough to knock down the Hulk and have Galactus notice him.
- Flight: Thor has the born ability to fly through the air at an amazing speed without any aid.

- Telpathy: Thor somehow knew Bruce Banner's secrets despite not knowning him.

- Political Knowledge: Thor has a better than average knowledge of world politics.
Weaknesses[]
- Thor's Belt: Unlike his Earth-616 counterpart, if his belt is removed, he would be unable to use Mjolnir and loses all of his superhuman abilities (this could be a reference to the original Norse Mythology where Thor required a magical belt to lift Mjolnir). It is unknown to what degree he currently relies on his tools. Between Ultimates 3 and Ultimate Comics: The Ultimates, Thor's powers were purely Asgardian in origin and required only the Odinforce as a source of power.
