Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Flowers/exhibits included lots of beautiful flora and plants but the price was too high considering the amount of time spent. I had expected a student discount based on what I had read prior to arriving and was told everyone had to pay adult rate.

This is an amazing place, full of so many beautiful flowers of all shapes, sizes, colors, and unique characteristics. I would definitely recommend this place to people of all ages. You can walk through the display in 15-20 minutes if you are in a hurry, or you can slow down and really examine everything there is to see. Besides all of the amazing floral, they have piped in animal/insect sounds to really make it feel tropical. The staff was very friendly and fun to chat with, the price is right, and the displays are amazing. A must!

Was very much looking forward to this but not quite what we were expecting- maybe it would be better at a different time of the year. Spent less than half an hour walking around. Still a nice wee visit.

Amazing place..a true delight with so much variety and unique indoor plants ..took about an hour to complete the tour. There is a small table with plants for sale towards the end (where indoor plants were kept). Dahlia garden outside the conservatory is not to be missed. Parking was available close by friday afternoon near tennis center on the side street. Can't believe, I had not visited this place yet...true hidden gem.

It is green house & botanical gardens with collection of rare & exotic plants from globe.
The plant museum has five galleries of low land tropics, aquatic plants, potted plants, highland tropics & special exhibits.
The visit to galleries change our mind , thoughts & allows our senses to breath .
Even outside front garden is simply awesome !
A great place for picnic & sun basking.

Spend an hour on this, and get a memory for a lifetime. A lot of flowers and overall a great location for photo shoot with impressions you didn't know existed. My favorite was the Bat flower.

The green house was closed already (4 pm) when we arrived and so we spent the time walking in the garden in front. There were large stretches of well manicured flowers and the ground rises further away leading to a small bridge which gives an excellent view of the ornate green house structure. Parking, however, is hard to find.

Beautiful! If you like flowers this is a must do, if you love flowers you can’t miss these beautiful gardens. The day we visited there was a light rain but we still spent an hour or so walking around the gardens. Dalias filled the beds and were in full bloom. Glorious! The grounds are very well kept and beautiful. We also had tickets to tour the green houses and they were something to behold, very special. I would certainly recommend this attraction.
The only improvement I think they could make is to have some sort of gift shop.

The first thing we appreciated about this conservatory was its warmth. After walking around in foggy mist for most of the morning we needed a warm-up. But after that it was all plants and flowers - most of which were exotics. Several I have never seen before, and I have been in more than one conservatory! Lots to see in a very relaxed venue. Not exactly a place that would be comfortable for wheelchairs or perhaps people with mobility issues, since walkways are really narrow and the buildings get crowded. It also may not be the best place for really active or adventurous kids, for the same reason. $10 fee to enter. Rest rooms are outside, so you do not need to pay to go into the conservatory just to use rest rooms. Located at the northeastern end of the Park. FYI: From this point to Ocean Beach, by walking straight through the park on JFK Drive is @ 3.5 miles.

You can travel the botany globe within the walls of this historic building. It takes about 45 minutes out of your life and $10 out of your wallet but well worth the journey into this tropical paradise. This is an adventure for individuals or families. You will experience two different climates and many unusual plants, flowers and trees. They limit the amount of people so you won’t feel crowded.

About 45 minutes but I took a lot of photos. Also I went at 5:30 and beat the crowds. If you go later it will probably take longer. Very impressive

A couple of options you could take. San Francisco has a pretty extensive public transit system. (muni service). You could look up Muni service map and figure it our from you starting point. Or, easier than that is Uber or Lyft. There always seems to be a driver close by and they have very nice and informative drivers. We actually brought our bikes in and rode all around Golden gate park. Nice way to see everything
