Kim Kardashian has caught some heat in the last couple of months after Taylor Swift dropped her new album The Tortured Poets Department which fans speculated a song was about her and she was later booed at Tom Brady's Netflix special, however, the businesswoman is doing just fine despite the unwanted spotlight.
“Kim isn't letting Taylor's song or the booing she experienced at Tom Brady's roast affect her,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “She truly doesn't care and is unbothered by both. She knows she is killing it, running her empire, and has true friends and family who love her. She has dealt with haters her whole life and is not giving either situation any weight.”
Taylor Swift & Kim Kardashian Feud Restarts
Swift and Kardashian have been at odds for some time and their feud has been reignited due to the release of Swift's The Tortured Poets Department last month. In the song “thanK you aIMee,” Swift sings, “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’ / And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed ‘F— you, Aimee’ to the night sky, as the blood was gushin'/ But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”
“All that time you were throwin' punches, it was all for nothin' / An our town, it look so small from way up here / Screamed ‘Thank you, Aimee' to the night sky and the stars are stunnin' / ‘Cause I can't forget the way you made me heal,” she sings.
Besides the lyrics, fans suggest that the title which is stylized “thanK you aIMee” was also a nod to Kardashian as the capital letters spell “Kim.”
Kim Kardashian At Tom Brady Netflix Comedy Roast
During the Brady roast, she kept her cool as she responded “alright, alright” to the boos from the audience. Kevin Hart, who was the host of the roast, also calmed down the crowd. While the boos are heard in the live version of the roast which took place last Sunday, on the streamable version of the special available now, the audience's response has been edited out.
While Kardashian's participation in the roast got off to a rocky start, she had her chance to make her jokes about the NFL icon as well as mention the rumor that the two dated.
“I wasn't going to come tonight. But since I'm not here as Tom's date, there's still a good chance I might,” the SKIMS mogul began as she referenced her 2007 sex tape. “Speaking of Tom and I dating, I know there were some rumors that we were. And I'd never say if we did or not—I'd just release the tape.”
She also took some jabs at her stepfather Caitlyn Jenner.
“But I do know it would never work out,” Kim told Tom, “an ex-athlete, high cheekbones, silky hair. You remind me too much of my stepdad now. Part of me thinks you would want to undress me just to try on my clothes.”
“I know the transition from the NFL must have been really hard, but I think my stepdad is a great example for you,” she continued. “She's one of the best athletes in the world who proved you can do anything in this next chapter of your life: You can become a commentator, a far-right Republican, or even a strong, confident woman.”
