At first, stealing the money for themselves starts easily, but getting home becomes the hard part. Their skills and friendship get tested as they face grueling obstacles to survive.

10 Best Comic Book Movies That Belong In Other Genres
Even the best comic book movies like The Dark Knight and Joker should actually be categorized into different film genres.

Before its release, the thought of an Ant-Man film sounded strange, but it ultimately led to the superhero becoming a bigger household name. Paul Rudd stars as Scott Lang, a thief released from prison who gets recruited by Dr. Hank Pym to take on the Ant-Man title. Armed with a suit that allows him to shrink in size and communicate with ants, Scott, Hank, and the rest of their allies work together to perform a heist and take down the villainous Darren Cross/Yellowjacket.

Back in 2015, Ant-Man defied expectations, especially for a well-established franchise like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The risky venture paid off and Ant-Man became one of the funniest and most lovable heroes in the MCU. Rudd brought the usual comedic chops he has been known for throughout his career, only with more action sequences. Because Scott is a thief, his skills come into play many times, even if it sometimes results in him getting caught. Ant-Man's climactic heist is its most memorable as it combines high stakes with chaotic superhero action and a dash of comedic amusement.

The Fast & Furious franchise has experienced many ups and downs since it started in 2001, from simple beginnings to more outlandish recent entries. There are a few installments that people like to revisit, and one of the most critically acclaimed is Fast Five. The fifth movie sees Dom Toretto and Brian O'Connor traveling to Rio de Janeiro and assembling a team of racers to rob a large safe from a corrupt businessman. However, they must also evade the authorities, including hardened federal agent Luke Hobbs.

With its simple premise of the characters planning a heist of epic proportions, Fast Five was the installment the popular action series needed to get people interested again. The introduction of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Luke Hobbs made the tension more enticing, and the action set pieces are some of the best of the entire franchise. Fast Five's biggest standout moments occur when the team steals the vault in the finale, providing a climactic car chase that is hard-hitting and over-the-top all at once.

10 Most Underrated Action Movies of All Time, Ranked
While these action movies have their fans, general audiences have missed out on them for too long.

Following the Best Picture winner 12 Years a Slave, director Steve McQueen made a shocking move by making his next major motion picture a heist film. Set in Chicago, Widows centers on grieving wives who must deal with the consequences of their late husbands' actions. Their husbands were thieves who were killed in a police shootout after an armed robbery. With targets on their backs and a debt that needs to be paid, protagonist Veronica and the other widows band together to pull off a heist.

While more dramatic than action-packed, Widows still has a riveting and twisted story with an ensemble cast that deserves more appreciation. Viola Davis gives another commanding performance as Veronica, balancing between being full of sorrow and driven with fierce determination. She's joined by Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, and Cynthia Erivo, who make up the rest of the main quartet. Additionally, there are stellar supporting turns from Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Colin Farrell, and Liam Neeson. Considering its fantastic ensemble and gripping crime narrative, Widows should have been more popular, but it's never too late to check it out now.

Steven Soderbergh changed the heist subgenre with Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels. After that, he occasionally returned to create more heist adventures, including 2017's crime comedy Logan Lucky. In the film, Channing Tatum and Adam Driver star as brothers Jimmy and Clyde Logan. Jimmy is a family man, while Clyde is an ex-soldier with only one arm. Desperate for money and determined to overcome a family curse, the Logan brothers, along with their sister Mellie and incarcerated criminal Joe Bang, conduct a heist during a NASCAR race.

Initially a box office dud upon release, those who saw Logan Lucky found plenty of enjoyment in this comical caper, thanks to Soderbergh's direction and its witty screenplay. There are several lines of dialogue and humorous moments that will leave viewers chuckling. Tatum, Driver, and Riley Keough are electric as the Logan siblings, but it is Daniel Craig's unconventionally hilarious turn as Joe Bang who steals the show. Plus, it's rare for a crime story to be set during a popular sports event like NASCAR, but Logan Lucky pulled it off.

While the Western genre may not be as popular as it was in previous decades, the 2010s still put out many noteworthy films, including Hell or High Water. Chris Pine and Ben Foster star as brothers Toby and Tanner Howard. Toby is a divorced father trying to look out for his son, while Tanner is an ex-convict with a short temper. To save their family ranch, the two plan a series of bank heists across their small town. However, Marcus Hamilton, a Texas Ranger on the verge of retirement, gets in their way.

Hell or High Water is a prime example of how to do a modern western, complete with well-developed outlaw characters, a sheriff-like figure looking to take them down, and intense shootouts during or outside the bank heists. While Toby and Tanner's actions might place them as antagonists, their motives are still understandable, presenting a fascinating conflict between them and law enforcement. Pine and Foster have brilliantly believable chemistry as the central brother duo, and Jeff Bridges put in one of the best performances of his career as Marcus.
