Dear Knox family--
I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Ruth a few times around town and working with her some during her stay at Select. She was always very nice to everyone she met. She loved talking about her family, she was so proud of each and every one of you. She took great pride in her home town also. Thomson lost a truly wounderful person. May God bless each one of you and help you through this difficult time.

May God bless you all during this difficult time. Miss Ruth was so special to me, she always had a kind word to say and a smile on her face. I know that she is the definition of a southern lady. How lucky I am to have known such an incredible person. She will be missed, but now we know there is one more angel in heaven!! God bless!

Such a legacy of a well-spent life! An accumulation of inspirational accomplishments of joy and purpose will affect generations of family, friends, and many others. To paraphrase Emerson, much is lost, but much remains.

Bobby, Andy and Ruthie:
Your mother was a woman of grace and was the epitome of the 'southern lady'. These things are seen very rarely in the generations since. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. May the great memories you made with her give you strength during this difficult time.

My earliest memory of Ruth Hall Knox is from June of 1956 when I was working in the Dining Room at Wesleyan during Alumnae Week. I remember seeing her sitting with her classmates: beautiful, poised, so gracious and kind when she spoke to not only her classmates but to me and the other girls serving. Ruth made a lasting impression even then in thoses casual encounters.
The other girls and I knew we would be alumnae some day and that Ruth Hall Knox was a role model we would never forget.
I shall treasure the memory of having met her on several occasions and extend my deepest sympathy to the family and to the family she treasured, the Wesleyan Family.
Ruth was most of all a Proverbs 31 woman. "Many daughters have done well. But you excel them all."
Sincerely with love,
