Men's Basketball Announces the Signing of Eric Baldassarre

CARROLLTON, Ga. – Head coach Dave Moore and the University of West Georgia Men's Basketball program continues to strengthen their 2024 recruiting class with coach Moore announcing the signing of Eric Baldassarre on Tuesday.

Baldassarre, a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania joins UWG after competing for Manheim Township and IMG Academy during his high school career.

"Eric is a skilled wing that can really shoot the ball with range," said coach Moore. "He comes from a great program at IMG Academy and is a gym rat deluxe that has a high ceiling. We are really excited about Eric and his potential here at UWG!"

Standing at 6'4", Baldassarre was one of the most skilled shooters at the high school level which led to his transition to IMG Academy, who only bring in the most talented players in the nation. The incoming freshman shined for IMG Academy's Varsity Gold as he was named Second Team All-State after averaging 12.0 points per game on 47 percent shooting and 44 percent from three while also eclipsing 1,000 career points. The wing was an integral piece of an IMG team that finished the 2023-24 season with a 29-7 overall record and an SIAA State Championship.

Baldassarre was known around the country as one of the most lethal three-point shooters but he also affected the game on the defensive end, by being active in the passing lanes. The Pennsylvania native finished his final high school season with 28 steals and 50 total deflections which led IMG.

Baldassarre joins Xavier Shegog, Kenneth Chime, and Kyric Davis in the 2024 recruiting class.
