Senior: The School of Science and Engineering at Townview is a great place for students who want to be ready for college and beyond. The teachers and staff are really helpful, supporting students in preparing for college, developing important skills, and taking care of their mental health. The school offers tough courses that help students learn and prepare for future careers, especially in engineering. Alum: The social life at Coppell High School was the best part. The school always had fun activities for us to do from football games to club activities. The school always made sure that we had bonding activities between students to create a more fun and welcoming environment beyond learning. Although I really enjoyed Coppell High School and it has amazing staff to keep it a great place, some teachers were not the best. The school doesn't take complaints about teachers very seriously therefore making some stressful learning environments with teachers that care very little. Parent: I have been a parent of a student at Liberty High School for the past 4 years. Overall, it is a good school. The teachers and administration are very nice and helpful to the students. I have only encountered one bad apple of teachers in my 4-year experience. There is not a lot of school spirit amongst the students. However, the school has a lot of events for the community that the students get involved in. My daughter has been a part of choir, dance, and theater. She enjoyed the majority of the programs, but felt like they all could use a bit of improvement. She and I both wanted to see more productions from the Arts department. All in all, Liberty has done a great job of shaping my child academically. She went from having below-average grades in middle school, to achieving over a 3.5 GPA during high school. Junior: I joined North Hills in my freshman year of high school after not being able to fit in to other facilities. I instantly felt welcomed and appreciated by all the faculty members and students, who were willing to help me settle in with all the expectations. They offered IB and a bunch of extracurriculars, as well as AP and Honor programs. I noticed the change in their school lunches as they became more delicious and healthy as the years went by, and the teachers started teaching more remotely after COVID ended. Some of the good teachers did leave, as they got other job, but the school was able to quickly fill in their spots to avoid a hole in the students’ education. Senior: Highland Park High School is, by all means, a fine school, if extremely bland; decorations around holidays leave much to be desired, as well as class "events", in previous years to encourage school spirit, we would have class vs class games, one year we even had a dodgeball tournament, but as of recently, this model has mostly been abandoned. The faculty and staff are extremely outgoing and kind, the teachers especially are very good with the students, all of them are simply put, fantastic people. In this way it is a double edged sword; the school isn't particularly eventful, and the announcements are bland, but the people lying within are simply some of the most incredible people I've had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with. Sophomore: My overall experience at Flower Mound High School has been overwhelmingly positive. I have loved most of the teachers I’ve had, my classmates have been relatively kind and good influences, and the classes I’ve taken have been informational yet not completely overtaxing. The best part of my high school experience so far is getting to know classmates and teachers and building relationships and new friendships. Junior: Reedy High School definitely presents a lot of opportunities for students to prepare for their future. However, their theatre department doesn't have a booster club, and the fine arts is relatively mediocre. Their sports are very active though and both their volleyball and football teams are very good. Additionally, while their academics are ranked well, they aren't as concerned with preparing students for the college grading system. Senior: As a senior at Plano East Senior High School, I would say my experience would be like a roller coaster where there would be ups and downs. First of all, there are many students who attend this school, and I believe it's easy to find your group and meet different people from different backgrounds. It's not like a typical high school where there are popular kids of Mean Girls that rule the school. Plano East has many clubs and organizations where you can get certified, experience, and knowledge from. They focus on opening opportunities for students and finding out what careers best suit them, which I really admire. It has unique traditions such as tradition week, signing day and the crossing over ceremony. Alum: I enjoyed my high school experience! Lots of AP classes are available and I got to take courses that made me sure of what I wanted to do later in life. Although the AP side of things were great, I think more dual credit classes should’ve been provided. I am currently studying mechanical engineering and having a dual credit physics course or a chemistry course would’ve been more beneficial for me than the English course that I took. There were three dual credit classes provided at Lovejoy: English, economics, and government. I believe they recently added an American history credit which will be great for when those students go to college. I was also a swimmer all four years of highschool and both years of middle school. I made many friends along the way, we got to bond over our difficult practices and races. Senior: Frisco has gotten a lot better in my four years at the school. We we got our principal, Dr. Perry, the school felt a lot better in terms of staff, school spirit, and the overall goal of Frisco High School. Frisco High is the Original high school of Frisco, and we are very proud of that. However, the facilities need some work. The bathrooms especially are awful with foul writings and barely usable sinks and stalls. Not to mention the infamous sewage leak last year.
