Ohio Northern University, known as ONU, is located in the small town of Ada, 80 miles northwest of the state capital, Columbus. ONU undergraduates can choose from more than 70 majors and can usually expect small class sizes. There are several programs for graduate students as well, including those in the Claude W. Pettit College of Law and the Rudolph H. Raabe College of Pharmacy. Outside the classroom, ONU offers more than 150 clubs, about 10 fraternities and sororities and a Student Planning Committee. Members of the SPC prepare activities for their classmates, such as bowling nights and finals week massages. There are many intramural and club sports available to students, as well as more than 20 Polar Bears varsity teams, which compete in the NCAA Division III Ohio Athletic Conference. Notable ONU alumni include Pixar animator Bob Peterson, who co-directed the movie "UP" and also voiced the character Dug the dog.
