It was a great experience! BI gave me a chance to explore academic subjects that I developed a great interest in. It gave the chance to make close friends, attend fun events, and become a stronger independent learner. Highly recommend!
Bishop Ireton High School is a very welcoming community. The school is deeply rooted in its faith, with a strong Campus Ministry program that offers student retreats and daily Masses. Not only that, but the academics are fantastic, specifically with the STEM program. While I envision improvement with supplementary electives and AP courses, the engineering and computer science programs have seen large strides and success. The student body is very enthusiastic for the school, with frequent events that blend fun with service and faith. Lastly, the school has a vibrant diversity program that encourages students to take pride in their heritage. There is, however, always room for improvement. The school could introduce more honor societies and large-scale organization chapters. Furthermore, the school does not provide as many resources as local public schools do. With these changes, I can see Bishop Ireton only improving after I leave.
When I first attended Bishop Ireton High School, I was welcomed by teachers and students. Everyone was really nice , and if I struggled in my academics, I was able to go directly to my counselor or teachers to receive help. One flaw is the administration is not very understanding on some issues, but with work, it can get better.
Ireton was overall a good experience, in all four years of me being here I have never heard of any individual getting bullied, or bullying others. There aren't a lot of loners, once you find your group you're good, but there are cliques for sure. I know not everyone is willing to talk to everyone. As far as education goes they have very good teachers, I previously went to public school and the teachers here clearly care more about student's success, having better teaching methods, and being very opened and even encourage students to meet with them after school if they are struggling. I feel very prepared for college after attending this school, and have gotten into all of the colleges I've applied for, and know multiple people who got into competitive colleges like UVA. We also have guest speakers come in about once a month who are very captivating and inspiring, good at keeping your attention. They care about raising a strong student body here, I will 100% send my kids here one day.
Overall, Bishop Ireton High School serves its main purpose to prepare students for college. The academics are challenging but very rewarding, the majority of the teachers really care about the students and help them succeed, the facilities are great as well as the theater arts department.
Ireton is, if you're not studying anything in particular, a pretty average school. There are plenty of language classes, strong English and History focus, and, if you can disregard the fact that the toilets, heating/air-con, and water fountains are always broken, you can even enjoy some small happiness before a teacher snatches it away. And that's if you feel something after spending days on end teaching yourself the curriculum that you are paying nearly $20K for.
Christian values run deep in the school, which is interesting considering how much ridiculous nonsense slips under the rug. Don't even think of sending your atheist or other-religiously-inclined child to this school; they will be forced to participate in Mass, adoration of the Eucharist, and confession - and I'm Catholic!
Besides that, like all private schools, the school is terribly overpriced. Save your money.

During my time at Bishop Ireton, I have lacked a feeling of belonging with my peers and my community. I have had a challenging and rigorous education that I feel has properly prepared me for college. In the future, I would like to see the administration focus more on the well-being of the students, rather than how to raise money for things that do not benefit the school as a whole. I feel like I have been able to connect with many of my teachers that they care about the students. The administration seems to focus more on punishments rather than what is best for the students.
This college prepatory school has a good education that prepares students for college. The teachers obviously care about their students and do their best to help them achieve.
Bishop Ireton really tries its best each year with rules, activity, spirit, and school involvement with everything it does. It really try to stick to its motto, 'Advance Always'
I’ve enjoyed my experience at Bishop Ireton. The teachers and staff have been helpful and attentive. The campus and area is good. The coaching staff and athletics are also excellent.
The best part about Bishop Ireton is all of the amazing people that I have met, along with the majority of teachers that I have had. The kids can be very welcoming and kind, while the teachers will make sure to make time outside of class if you need extra help understanding the material being taught. The worst part of Bishop Ireton is that some of the teachers are really mean and won't let you go to the bathroom. This is a problem for me because I have Irritable bowel syndrome meaning if I need to go, then I need to go. I would like it to be an environment where I won't have to plan how to hide period blood in case I accidentally bled through due to not being allowed to use the restroom, as well as I don't want to have to panic about if I will be able to keep my IBS at bay until I can use the bathroom.
Bishop Ireton was much easier than college and I did not really feel prepared when I go to college because they spent more time on religion classes than on teaching us how to get ready to live on our own
Bishop Ireton is very good with great educational opportunities. The resources for students are good and striving to see all students succeed is #1
As a current freshman at Bishop Ireton, I don't have the experiences of upperclassmen, so I feel that I cannot comment on the school's teachers and academics as a whole. However, I will say that all 9 of my current teachers are very proficient in their subjects, are willing to help their students, and genuinely want us to succeed. While I do feel that the workload is pretty difficult (for me at least), it is very customizable -- your high school experience can be as easy or as hard as you want. Bishop Ireton offers many opportunities for high-achieving students such as scholar programs and a plethora of AP and Dual-Enrollment classes. However, any pressure to be a part of these opportunities is only pushed by the student's own desires, not by the school itself. Bishop Ireton also has an excellent band program (something that I took advantage of), as well as a thriving theater program. With such a diverse student body, your four years at Bishop Ireton are really what you make of them.
I moved from a small all girls school to Bishop Ireton. While both are private high schools the environment change was a shock. Bishop Ireton has this air about it that was non-existent at my previous school. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome, and accepted. People were friendly and laughing and smiling. The classes are rigorous however you can tell the teachers care for you and want you to succeed. I have never had a teacher so involved and determined to see us succeed as my chemistry teacher. Apart from the classes there are multiple clubs available to students ranging from academic focused clubs, to clubs made to embrace a culture and cultivate a community for minorities, to random interests students have. They are avid in celebrating women history month, black history month, etc. which was another thing absent at my previous school. As a black girl I deeply appreciated the ways they go about honoring and celebrating these special months.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere else

Great Academics, they really helped me with applying to colleges. Facilities are good and I feel like it has prepared me for college.
This school is Hell on Earth. Incredibly homophobic, inconsiderate, bigoted, and bland. Four years of this place felt like a century of academic and religious torture. Do your kids and yourself a favor, don't pay that much money for a bad academic and social experience.
