How can I restore to a previous date?
Hi BrendaBoisvert, My name is Jeremy, a Windows Independent Adviser. I'll be happy to help you out today. Let’s see what I can do.

In the case that you still have access to the desktop, you can revert system changes using a restore point with these steps:

Here's a quick way to restore to a saved previous date from System Restore

1. Open Start.
2. Search for Create a restore point, and click the top result to open the System Properties experience.
3. Click the System Restore button.
4. Click the Next button
5. Select the restore point that you want to use on your computer.
6. Click the Scan for affected programs button to understand the apps that will no longer be available because they're added after the creation of the restore point.
7. Click the Close button.
8. Click the Next button.
9. Click the Finish button.

Let me know how it goes

There is only one way to restore your computer to exactly as it was on any given date: Restore a backup image of your hard drive that you made on the date in question.

A restore point is not a backup. A restore point doesn't include all of Windows, or your software, or your personal files.

I learned this from a trusted Microsoft MVP.
