I watched a colorized version of NOTLD once out of curiosity and prefer the black and white version. The zombies and gore are more frightening in black and white.
After seeing them both I do have to agree. I really do prefer the black and white version as well. It's still interesting to see it in color though. There's a few moments in the movie where the color actually points out major imperfections with the film that the black and white hides very well. There's a moment in the kitchen where a cutting board and a spatula are badly cropped over one another. You can see it when Ben is collecting wood to secure the house. Another moment where the movie is being robbed by the color is when he has to drag the women body down the hall, you can see that the actress's face that's laying there is completely intact and what we saw earlier was a prop. Little things like that
The MST3K folks did a riff on this one and they used a version I’d never seen before. It had some extra bits in there
