November 19 turned out to be a great day for Jimmy Sheirgill. Not only did the second season of his popular web series, Your Honor, drop on SonyLIV that day, but it was also the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Centre’s decision to repeal the contentious farm laws that had led to massive protests by India’s farmers. As one of the top Punjabi actors to have supported the farmers’ agitation (his Instagram profile photo has the words ‘No farmers, no food’ stamped on it), Sheirgill had reason to rejoice. “I stick to what I feel is right,” says Sheirgill about his stance. “I know there are two sides to a coin always, but there are certain issues where there are no two sides.” He remained quiet on social media, though. But that’s typical Sheirgill, an artist who has quietly gone about his job for two decades, impressing with each performance—be it in a drama like Yahaan or comedies like the Tanu Weds Manu films.
