Nestled in the heart of the French Quarter, the AC Hotel by Marriott New Orleans delights many guests with its prime location and overall cleanliness, boasting well-kept rooms and efficient housekeeping. Travelers enjoy the comfort of the clean rooms but some feel the decor could use an update and better lighting. While the friendly staff receives accolades for their service, issues with valet and customer care have been noted. Despite the hotel offering a variety of amenities, the additional charges have led some guests to question the value.

Comfortable room, good breakfast. Good location, near to French Quarter. Friendly front desk, very helpful. Great experience in New Orleans. Valet parking was full, so we parked behind the hotel, Hilton Parking $20 per day.

I loved the location! We were only a short walk to Bourban St., local bars and restaurants, casino and novelty stores. For the price I hated the customer service of the front desk. They were not welcoming at all even the manager Stacey and unsuccessful with assisting with the mobile key.

The room was smaller than expected with an old fashioned coffee maker, mini fridge and a safe. Our bathroom was poorly cleaned and the shower had strings of hair everywhere as well as the linen on the bed. It looked like someone had spit toothpaste on the doors of the bathroom interior which still didn’t get cleaned when I requested they remove the hair. And the bed was hard as a brick.

The bar tender was very nice and helpful and told us stories of the history of the area, as well as, the valet driver who provided us with food recommendation. I disagreed with the parking but opted to just do the $42/daily valet because self parking was two city blocks away and still $25/daily with no on the street parking which I would not recommend anyway.

The site manager was nice when we voiced our concerns. His staff still fumbled the experience even after he addressed them about our stay. They really grew cold and unwelcoming.

Stayed at this hotel for four nights while attending a wedding in NOLA. It is very conveniently located across Canal from the French Quarter & near the trolley car stop. You can sleep as late as you want because the rooms have blackout curtains. The rooms are dark but who wants to be in their room in NOLA? The rate here is very reasonable for such a great location. Luckily I had read another review re the shower head. You need to turn it towards the wall when turning on or you will get dosed with cold water. The rooms have a mini frig & 2 bottles of water. Also you can make coffee or hot water for tea. The bed was comfortable. Val at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time at the bar with Terrance💕💕💕 He is a wonderful bartender with a great personality. We closed the bar down with Terrance every night. The other bartender Mark was not as friendly. Small canteen in the lobby where you can purchase chips or drinks from the front desk. Would definitely stay here again.

This location was ideal! Not only did we book this reservation at an excellent value and price point, but it was literally located on a street that turned into Bourbon Street, meaning that it was IMPOSSIBLE to get lost in the mix of the buzzing scenery of New Awlins! My cousin and I took a girls trip for Valentines day, and we only stayed for one night, which was wonderful. The staff and managers at this location were so kind and helpful, and thoughtful. From our check-in (which we were accommodated and gifted an opportunity to check-in earlier), to the direct support with our room and amenities by the lovely Lenora; from the restaurant staff helping me to find a quiet space to take my zoom meetings, to our bags being safely held by darling Kaylyn while we enjoyed the city after checking out! This staff reflected the hospitality that New Orleans is known for, and the stay was one to remember. Grab a cup of citrus infused water at the front desk, and stay hydrated!

Our stay was OK. Excellent location. Both rooms we stayed in were clean but our first room was very small/cramped and dark (two small half windows). Beds were very narrow - adequate for a single adult but definitely not suitable for 2 people - even kids. After 36h the bathroom door stopped closing. We had to wait all day for the issue to be addressed. Finally in the evening the repairman showed up but failed to fix it. Then we were offered a much larger room with a bathtub and a window which was much more suitable for 2 adults with 2 kids. We didn’t eat or drink at the hotel. Staff was friendly but not always helpful.

The overall experience was OK. I’m pretty laid back and it takes a lot to get me to the point of a negative review but it needs to be pointed out. We checked in 4/20/2024 and the next day we did a cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking. After the class we brought back a large bag of items we had purchased at the Cooking Class. When we got back to the Hotel neither of our Key Cards worked in the door nor the phone App Key. We went to the front desk to resolve and were told we had De-magnetized our cards. The cards were in two separate persons and the phone key App didn’t work either. The front desk personnel was very dismissive and it turned out to be how they linked the INITIAL deposit with the room keys. This was all was resolved. Come Monday we had been out early and came back in the evening to find that our bag from New Orleans School of Cooking was gone, nowhere in sight. In that bag was this inventory. ( Reg chili mix, white chili mix, Grits, Bengeit Mix. Pound Cake Mix, asst. spices, 2 aprons and recipes from the class. A total of about $65 worth of merchandise. Once we brought this up to the front desk they didn’t seem overly concerned. Eventually they comped one night which was 3x the value of the lost/stolen merchandise but that isn’t the point. The bag items were in was heavy and not trash and should never have been removed from the room to begin with. The experience was at least very irritating as we did not have time to replace the items while we were in town and the staff gave the impression that they couldn’t have cared less about the situation. My rating is a no for this establishment.

Dear 551dallasl, Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I apologize that your items were thrown away as I am sure this was an honest mistake. I do see that we made an attempt to rectify this by refunding you for more than the cost of the items. I will review with my housekeeping team to ensure this won't happen again. This is touted as the first AC hotel in America and it shows. I love the AC brand, but I would not return here. The staff was fantastic, and the public space was nice, but the room was tired. The shower design is terrible and makes it impossible to turn it on without getting doused with cold water.

It’s an old building that was redone, but encasing old windows is gross. Full of bugs and spider webs.

One slow elevator.

Only decaf in room when I arrived, and I only discovered in the morning that the coffee condiment packet was open and missing most items. The coffee cup lids provided in the room were not the right size for the cups.

The bright spot was Terrance at the lobby bar. He is a great asset.

Thermostat clicked on and off every 3 minutes. Rooms were small, shower door would not shut, house keeping did not service our room but the cart was in the hallway for the duration of our stay, Sheetrock dust all over the walls, especially from the top of the door to the high ceiling. Room 307 Front desk attendants spoke every time we entered the building, Lobby was neat and clean and decorated nicely

This is a cool hotel across Canal Street from the French Quarter. It is housed in the old Cotton Exchange Building. The rooms are very unique based off the conversion from the original Cotton Exchange design. The staff was very welcoming. The bar is well stocked with a variety of different beers, wines and spirits. It is an easy walk to all the restaurants and bars in the area. The only thing missing is a M Club!
