One of a kind Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop build for Marshall Crenshaw in 2003.
Marshall writes: < Here I am (photo #1) at the Record Plant in 1982 with my #1 Stratocaster, which started out its life as a stock sunburst 1966 Strat. My cousin bought it in SE Asia while serving there in the Air Force during the late '60s. Sometime in the late 1990s I decided to have it restored to its former condition by Joe Glazer in Nashville. Then in 2003 I asked the Fender Custom Shop to build something for me that resembled the gtr that you see here, with a paduak neck (w/ a '55 Strat profile), a brass nut, brass bridge saddles, and a cherry red ash body. Over the years I've used this second one a bunch: it's the main electric gtr on my 2009 album "Jaggedland"; I used it on the DKT-MC5 reunion tour in 2004, and on many tours with The Bottle Rockets (photo #2) from 2011-2018. I took it out of the rotation a couple years ago, but I do love it and it's served me well.>
