Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are traditionally sent out 6-8 weeks before your wedding day. This gives your guests plenty of time to make hotel arrangements or let you know they won't be able to make it.

The exception being if you have a destination wedding or if friends or family are traveling from out of town. In this case, you should send out your invites around three months ahead of time so guests can book airfare, hotels, and make other arrangements to ensure they can celebrate with you. In general, your wedding invites should include the following details:

• Who's hosting
• A request to attend the wedding
• The names of the bride and groom
• The date and time
• The location (including the venue, city, and state)
• Reception information
• Dress code
• A separate RSVP card for guests to send back to you
