Went in with no expectations or knowing much about it. Came out after 4 hours wondering where the time went. All things considered, the entry fee seemed low.

Had my 3rd snowboarding lesson in the Milton Keynes Snozone. The instructor, Tony, was excellent and helped me progress whilst having a laugh.
    Would highly recommend. :)

First time at this model village and it’s the best model village that I have visited, so much to see and experience look at the names of the shops this will make you laugh. So much time has been spent on reconstructing this amazing place so well built and a look back in history. Places to eat or have a picnic it’s a fantastic place to visit don’t miss it,

Waddesdon Manor is a country house in the village of Waddesdon, in Buckinghamshire, England. Owned by the National Trust but managed by the Rothschild Foundation.
Sign posting for Waddesdon Manor is provided by the Rothschild Foundation and royal blue and silver signage. It is quite easy to miss as you are driving along but persevere and turn around. Once you have found the correct entrance it is a short drive to the car park and reception centre. From there you can purchase an all-day ticket for the shuttle bus and I recommend you do that. The manor house is built on top of a hill and is quite a drive.
In 1874, Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild bought the Waddesdon agricultural estate from the Duke of Marlborough with money inherited from his father Anselm. Rothschild was familiar with the estate from fox hunting in the locality. At the time of purchase, the estate had no house, park or garden. The site of the future Manor House was a bare hill. Known as Lodge Hill, it had been stripped of its timber by the impoverished Duke of Marlborough prior to the sale. Over the following three years, the summit of the hill was levelled; eventually, on 18 August 1877, the foundation stone was laid. The Grade I listed house was built in a mostly Neo-Renaissance style, copying individual features of several French châteaux. It is very impressive and like a fairy tale castle.
Being managed by the Rothschild Foundation quality is key; food is better; service is better; gardens kept to a higher standard; fountains working AND no rooms closed off. You get your money’s worth here. It was so opulent with regard to jewels, gold and silver decorations on some of the exhibits, the like of which you probably have never seen. Even Queen Victoria wanted to see what was on show here!
The rear of the manor is as impressive as the front but the parterre is so neat with manicured box and euonymus hedges but most of all is the perfectly trained ivy crisscross on the tower.
In the gardens you will also find the Aviary - a huge gilded bird cage containing many rare birds that are part of a breeding program to increase their numbers in their natural habitat.

My daughter had a party at Big Rock with 5 friends. They thoroughly enjoyed it and had a lovely instructor, Danni. The adults were able to watch in the viewing area and because it was early it was nice and quiet. Highly recommend!

Great experience for the whole family. The hosts were great and I was happy to see that there were other animals too. Nice that tea and cookies were included.

We took our 4 year old grand daughter here for the day during this Easter holidays. Fantastic day . She loved the outside play park, the tractor ride, the water play area and of course the animals outside but we couldn’t get her away from the indoor slides and climbing adventure apart from when we took her to feed the animals and see the piglets . We had a great time too being with her and enjoying just a fantastic place. Although the weather wasn’t great still loads to do - on a nice summers day we could spend from opening to closing and still not get bored.

I visited Thrift farm with y 7 year old granddaughter. I had a rough idea where it was, just outside of Milton Keynes. It is sign posted on the main road, the next left sign refers to the next roundabout not the next turning.
There is plenty of parking, but i would imagine this soon fills up in the summer holidays.
The entrance is via the garden centre.

The farm is nice and spacious, with plenty of room between the pens.
Lots to see including many Goats, lamas, ponies, pigs, sheep, chickens, Turkeys. Also Guinea Pigs, Donkeys and Rabbits.
There are petting feeding sessions during the day for the Guinea Pigs and Rabbits.
The Goats were a huge favourite of my granddaughter, she loved them feeding from her hand.

The play park is large and has plenty to do, including to huge trampolines.

The café also very good with a wide range of food, hot and cold.

Very reasonable entrance fees in my opinion, we also bought 4 bag of food, which seemed a lot of food, but not to the Goats!

Although we enjoyed our visit it was the buggy back to the car park that stopped me giving an excellent rating. We left the cafe at 5 pm, got to the buggy stop and a notice directed us back to the cafe to request transport, only to be told the driver went off duty at 4.30! There was no indication of this at the buggy stop otherwise we would have made sure we were back in time. I would suggest clear signage to make visitors aware that the buggy stops before the Manor is closed.

There is a lot of walking at Stowe, but there were some lovely views from different parts of the lake. Our highlight was a temporary exhibition of things the gardeners had dug up, there was such a variety of items, including a butter churn. The lady who was overseeing it was really friendly & helpful. After walking further than I thought was possible, I was delighted to be able to catch a buggy back to the shop/cafe area.
