Community Councils were established by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as a way of bridging the gap between local authorities and local communities.
The objectives of Isle of Arran Community Council are to ascertain, coordinate and express to local and public authorities and others, the views of the Communities on Arran and to take such action in the interests of these Communities as appears to the Council to be expedient and practicable.

Our meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month in the Ormidale Sports Pavilion in Brodick. There is no meeting held in December. The meetings start at 6:00pm and all members of the public are welcome to attend; details will be in the local press.

Arran Community Council actively participates on the Arran Ferry Committee who hold regular meetings on the second Monday of each month and are supported by representatives from CalMac, CMAL and TS as required. The minutes from these meetings are published here when approved.
Arran Ferry Committee is the established body to engage with all service providers for ferry matters and meets with appropriate groups as required. They are also included in the proposed arrangements for the Ardrossan upgrades.
