Adam Nayman eye WEEKLY For better or for worse, How High knows what its audience wants and serves it to them, straight up, without any sort of moral or ethical chaser. Rated: 3/5 Jan 6, 2002 Full Review Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post Despite the comedy's reliance on drug humor, first-time director Jesse Dylan is actually less interested in getting high than in seeing how low he can go. Rated: 1/5 Jan 6, 2002 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Feebly crafted in virtually every way imaginable -- directing, cinematography, acting, scriptwriting. Rated: 0.5/5 Dec 30, 2001 Full Review Jae-Ha Kim Jae-Ha Kim If you like stoner comedies and Cheech & Chong, “How High” will feel like home. Rated: 2/4 Jul 27, 2023 Full Review John Sooja Common Sense Media Unfortunately, this stoner comedy doesn't hold up nor was it likely very good at the time of its initial release in 2001. How High unites these two friends in an absurd and impossible-to-believe story that has them challenging establishments at Harvard. Dallas G If anyone disagrees with the movie, you need to understand it's two rappers who made one of the most solid films at the time, it doesn't have to be perfect because it's two damn rappers who were probably actually getting high making it harder. Point is yall cared enough to watch it so it couldn't have been as bad as these reviews make it out to be. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Prince of Determination & Video Mogul B As far as hi-jinks go, I suppose a supernatural weed supply is kinda original, but this is far too close to Legally Blonde in terms of someone going to a college that is out of their element, leading to a Superman comeback to achieve their dreams. I've seen it before and will at some point likely see it again. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review James B This is by far my all time favorite stoner movie. I have seen it countless times and still quote it quite often. There's a reason why the critics and audience scores are so different and it's such a massive cult classic. I also find that the people who don't like it are people who I wouldn't want to hang out with so it's a good metric for figuring out whos a head or not lol. 10/10 will continue to watch this movie countless times more Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Kaleb B As someone who was entering college around the time of its release, I can assure you this movie was beloved by MANY…and still is. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Regal R 90/100 - classic. method man and redman have perfect synergy in this film. its a classic stoner comedy and its not just crude or dumb humor. it ages well despite the current zietgiest of society and is something ive watched many times and will watch many times to come. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review T B A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
