Brooklyn Center police on Monday released a portion of video footage from the body camera of the officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright, 20, Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop.

Wright was pulled over for an expired license plate and perhaps an additional reason related to the vehicle’s equipment, according to statements from law enforcement officials. Officers handcuffed him after they suspected there was a warrant for his arrest for a weapons violation.

The 1 minute, 7 second clip video shows Wright break free from officers, and then the officer wearing the body camera pulls her gun, shouts,  “Taser! Taser! Taser!” and fires a single shot.

Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said he believes the officer meant to pull her Taser, but instead drew her firearm, in effect, killing Wright by mistake. He was unarmed, Gannon said.

The video was posted online by MN Crime, a group that published police dispatch audio and video.
