Our experience has always been great at Clyde’s in Georgetown, but not today. Everyone seemed quite unhappy, especially the hostesses. So unhappy that we were given directions how to find our table, not a greeting or a smile, not even acknowledgement that we have entered the establishment. It felt like we do not exist. We always order more or less the same meals and drinks, and this time everything was disappointing, except the oysters. This experience was quite disheartening, as Clyde’s has always been a staple for good food and great hospitality.

Among the best, most varied menus around from steak and seafood entrees to salads, burgers and sandwiches/wraps, all tasty and well presented. Upscale decor, comfortable seating, nice ambience although not particularly quiet. Nice value, definitely a place for entertaining dinner guests.

The food was excellent - had steak and frittes, scallops, and filet mignon - all was very good - service was excellent. Seating was tight and the atmosphere was noisy, but worth the visit.

Although the restaurant is a little cramped for the number of tables, the food and the service is absolutely excellent. It is a must go when you are in DC.

No argument with the food, it was very good. But we were seated in a booth by the bar and the obnoxious loud mouths at the bar were awful. We asked to be moved but they said since we had already ordered drinks we could not be moved?! After about an hour the loudmouths left and we could actually speak and hear each other so the rest of the meal was enjoyable.

Love Clyde’s! The food is always great and so are the drinks. Restaurant is on the louder side and very crowded, but I suppose that is because of the awesome food. Love the decor.

Absolutely amazing experience ! Even though our table was not quite ready when we arrived the staff more than made up for it with their generous hospitality and attention to service. We were in Georgetown to celebrate our daughter’s upcoming wedding and Clyde’s was the perfect starting off point for our beautiful weekend. We will be back! Thank you all!

Clydes is a classic Georgetown pub and restaurant with excellent service and very good food. We were welcomed like old friends and met up with long time pals whom we hadn't seen in years. We had a lot of catching up to do and the staff was very kind in letting us chat for a long time before ordering. Food was so tasty. Service excellent. Great ambiance!

No way would i recommend this place. The worst service ever. And I mean the worst. Can’t even talk about the food because we never got it. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation for a party of 4. We ordered some drinks and appetizers which took about 15 minutes. Now it’s about 8:10. We put our entree orders in before the apps came to the table. The apps were ok. Our table is cleared and a half hour passes. We are waiting and wondering where are our entrees. The waitress stops at our table and says “hmm let me me check on your order”. At 8:55 she comes back to our table and tells us that she forgot to put in our order and she puts some bread on table to “hold us over” and told us our order would be out in 10 minutes. In the meantime, a table of 4 and a table of 8, who both came in more than a half hour after us, were seated and served their dinners while we are still waiting . At this point it 9:15 and we still hadn’t received our dinner. That was when we got up and walked out. On a side note, the place is dirty.

This place was phenomenal. Very loud from all the people coming out after a long day and week at work. The service was spot on and attentive. The food was excellent: we got the bacon cheeseburger and fried chicken rice bowl

Great American food, burgers, sandwiches, but also more classy plates if that’s what you want like the crab cakes or salmon. The wait staff were kind and diligent, not obtrusive. The ambience is like stepping into a prep-school club house, with vintage wrestling, sports, but in a more collegiate, preppy atmosphere. Thursday night was busy and mildly loud in the main dining room.

We went to the Georgetown Clydes. It was outstanding from the second we walked in. We were shown in our table in record time. Our server Kyra was a gem, we had tons of fun. Most importantly the food was first rate. Each of our party got something different and we were equally thrilled. And then, the cappucino.....

I've been to Clyde's of Georgetown many times, and the reason I give it an outstanding is because you know you are going to get consistently good food, well prepared to taste, in a place that it friendly with service that excels. I know that what I want I'm going to get! Due to the consistency of quality, the ambiance, the service and the value, I'm happy to give it an outstanding rating.
