Though it may not reach for any new artistic heights, The Count of Monte Cristo is an old-fashioned yet enjoyable swashbuckler.

Kal S A revenge story that doesn't so much revel in bloodthirsty retribution as it questions the cost. (Well okay, it does revel a little bit.) A satisfying film with a little bit of everything, including some good old-fashioned swordplay. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Gerry M Pretty good movie if you have not read the book. I've read the book - this is too far from the story to even bear the name of the title or the author Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review Audience Member One of the best films ever made.
