Enable Multiplayer on Microsoft Account - Microsoft Community

Enable Multiplayer on Microsoft Account

To be able to play multiplayer in Minecraft Java Edition, I apparently need to enable the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety join multiplayer games setting.

However when I followed a guide explaining how to do this, I went to the xbox privacy page however It kept on redirecting me back to a general help page that did not have any settings.

No matter what I click I get redirected back to this page.

Where is the "Privacy & online safety page for your account."

Hi DarkAndromeda31, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

For you to manage it you can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings.

If the system detects that your account is a child account you will be redirected to a support site and if not you will be able to change it successfully.

If you were redirected to a support page, please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family and check if there is an organizer account linked to your account then use the organizer account so sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings then "allow" the setting on this screenshot:

I get redirected to the support site again, then I then went to the family site, I see this:

I don't think that I am part of a family group.

EDIT: I managed to solve the issue

Thank you for that and you're correct, if you're a minor please ask an adult or a parent of yours to add you as a member under family so they can manage your settings. Simply ask them to sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family then create a family group and add you as a member.
