It's a boy! Parents Britteney and Chance Ayres are celebrating the birth of their baby boy, Sonny. But it isn't just a big day for their family. Sonny has broken a record at the Cambridge, Ontario hospital where he was born on October 23. All by weighing in at 14 pounds and 8 ounces at birth.
The happy little chunkster made his earthside debut at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
According to CP24, the boy's doctor Dr. Asa Ahimbisibwe was stunned by his size.
“The shock when the baby came out. Just chubby and chunky and he went on the weighing scale and yeah, it was quite a large baby,” Dr. Ahimbisibwe said.

But the doctor couldn't have guessed that Sonny weighed 14 pounds and 8 ounces. The little guy is the biggest baby born at the hospital since they started keeping track in 2010.
Most babies weigh about 7 pounds — so half of little Sonny's weight.
"We were very surprised at how big Sonny was," his mom told the news outlet.
Good Morning America reports that Sonny was born via c-section and follows in the footsteps of two of his older siblings who also passed the 10 pounds mark.
"[Marigold] was born 13 pounds, 14 ounces. And Lucky, he was born 13 pounds, 11 ounces," the mom told GMA.
In total, Sonny has four older siblings Chance, 6, Everett, 5, Lucky, 3, and Marigold, 1.
"The doctor asked us if we joked around, he says, 'Well, we just make big babies,'" the mom recalled. But she does have a theory on why her babies keep coming out on the larger side. "Chance is very tall. He's 6 [feet], 2 [inches]. My dad's tall so it runs in the family," she explained.
But despite the joy they've had setting records, the couple said that Sonny will likely be their last baby.
"He's our last one ... a ray of sunshine. He's beautiful," Chance explained. "Anyone that sees them has an enormous smile, even if they don't recognize [him] from the news. They still see him and say, 'Wow, what a baby that is.'"
