This is a fabulous school! Great area and convenient to the old downtown with restaurants and shops. The people are amazing and the academics are top tier. A small school with a big impact! Close to mountains with a beautiful view from campus. The dorms are fine and the campus is beautiful and safe. The people are fabulous which makes it the special place it is. One of the very best colleges in the country.
This school is taking years off the lives of both students and faculty because of the pressure cooker level of stress it creates. The block plan doesn’t encourage meaningful learning or relationships. The student body is absurdly wealthy and absurdly out of touch with reality. It’s like going to school in a bubble. If you are otherly-abled in any way, be it mental illness or physical disability, this school will do very little to accommodate your needs all while making you feel like you’re failing this inane rat race that is the block plan. Their mental health resources are laughable and the administration is a feckless amalgamation of smoke and mirrors that will give plenty of lip service to mental health and diversity, while students continue to transfer out because of how unsustainable the block plan is. Some of the worst four years of my life.
Overall, I have had no negative experiences at Colorado College. Before I went, I thought I might hate the school as it's on the block plan and small, but I completely understand why everyone who goes here loves it. Besides mediocre food, the school is great academically and socially. There are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved in clubs or athletics. I love going here!
