Recomendaciones
Críticas
- The better of the 2 2019 RSD Frank Black releases, IMO. The debut had side 2 off-center issues (many copies had this) and mine also had some surface noise. This is centered and flat, and noise is minimal. Sound quality is fuller and better as well. Granted, this probably is just a matter of putting it on 2 discs instead of 1 (it is 15 minutes longer).
- I'm always nervous with RSD pressings, particularly gimmicky colored vinyl versions for hipster collectors, but I couldn't resist picking this one up as it's a favorite album of mine. I guess I'm a hipster after all? This one sounds quite good. Strong dynamic range, only a touch of surface noise between songs. No complaints from my side - other than it could have used a gatefold sleeve.
- Sounds great except surface noise in the quiet sections, sounds like a white noise maker no pun intended! Vacuum cleaned and still there, I guess that’s just how some things don’t materialize?
- Has anyone else had an issue with any of the labels on the records being bubbled up, as if the press was possibly a bit lower in temperature and didn’t fully cause the label to stick to the vinyl?
I don’t really understand it, because I am very familiar with this album, and I feel this pressing came out very well. Great dynamics, clarity, channel separation, etc.
Thanks very much, guys! - Just did an A-B comparison with an original CD. The CD always sounded compressed, brittle and harsh. The vinyl is much more dynamic and a bit more open. You hear the difference clear as day on a good stereo as song as Pong starts; the kick drum has no oomph on the CD, while you feel it on the vinyl.
- Editado hace 4 añosI think this pressing sounds really good. Flat and generally well-centered, no sibilance or distortion or noise that I noticed. As I understand it, this album was mixed ADD in 1994 and all releases are going to come from that digital mixdown, as such I wasn't expecting any radical revelations in sound, but I'm thrilled to have a good sounding pressing of one of my all time fave albums at last. Having spent years listening to the original CD, and later a really good high-end rip of the original vinyl pressing, this new version seems about on par with previous versions to me.
