This album was a used album. You wouldn’t know. It’s immaculate! Plays perfectly. Really pleased with this purchase.

Just awesome. A must for any Neil Diamond fan. Four CDs of live performances and one of Christmas songs. Plus a dvd with highlights from his Ireland 2002 tour and a booklet with photographs taken over the years. Have played the CDs so many times I am surprised they have not worn out. I am delighted with my purchase and would definitely buy again.

If you don't buy another Neil Diamond album ever again make sure this is the one box set you have in your CD collection. It is full of energy and is pure Neil Diamond. Great buy.

This completes my Neil Diamond collection. Great Vegas show and a good selection of other live recordings through the years.

This box set is brilliant.
This Box Set consists of 4 Different Sections as follows.
1) Discs 1&2 Are are a complete recording from a performance in
Las Vegas Last December (right down to the exit music).
In my opinion Neil's band only get better over the years.
They constantly improve on Neil's songs every time I hear them live. Neil Gives a great performance on this disc especially on the livelier tracks, but I do prefer the versions of slower tracks (like hello again) on the Live DVD (Disc 6 of this set).
The sound quality is Superb. Audio is very well mastered and plays very well through a Dolby Prologic (Surround sound)
amp with the audience nicely placed in the surround speakers.
If you play this through your HIFI, it really is like being at one of Neils Concert!
2) Discs 3&4 Are various live recordings from 1970 - 2002
It is really great to hear so many live tracks taken
from the last 30+ years on stage. I really enjoy it when Neil adds one of his hundreds of tracks to a live performance. I do wish he would do a tour of 'alternative' tracks sometime, tracks like Coldwater morning. However in it's place this is almost as good, in fact there are enough tracks here to make a complete 'alternatives - live' night in your own home!
Sound qualty is very good, especially given the age of some of these track. Many of Neils 70's Albums do sound compressed (not much bass) but these tracks are all very good.
3) Disc 5 Live Christmas Songs
I haven't played this disc yet but the box set indicates some are from before his first christmas album (from the 1970's)
4) Disc 6a Extracts from a Live Performance at Dublin (2002)
This is superb. it's been 15 years since Neil's 'Greatest Hits live' Video and this shows Neil in a very different venue. Here he performs outside at a large stadium in Dublin. This really is a superb performance by Neil. I only wish it was the complete concert instead of only 12 tracks.
The picture is excellent and I believe Anamorphic Widescreen (though it doesn't indicate this anywhere). So I would set your telly and DVD to widescreen (if you have the option). Sound quality is superb through a Dolby Surround amp (though my amp doesnt indicate that it is discrete Dolby Digital 5.1, which would have been slightly better). Run time is 50+ minutes
Disc 6b Behind the Scenes (Diamondville)
This gives a great insite into Neil and his band. You realise just how they do have there own community and how they care for one another. A real treat for Neil Fans.
The Picture is Full Screen (not Widescreen). This is a nicely produced documentary. Run time 50+ minutes.
If I had to be critical (and this is picky), then I wish Neil had taken a few of the ballards on the Live Vegas concert (like 'Hello again' and 'Love on the rocks') a little bit steadier and with a little more feeling, also I wish that the DVD was the complete performance. But other than that this is a must have collection for anyone who likes Neil's music.

Neil Diamond has been a world superstar for 4 decades, and during that time his live performances have become legendary. The standard was set in 1972 with Love At The Greek, still a magical album. However, 31 years later with advances in recording technology and an abundance of his own material during that period, Diamond has produced an unrivalled live album, which when played in surround sound projects the listener into the middle of the concert.
For any Diamond fan this is an absolute must regardless of other live recordings. For anyone else thinking about it, stop and simply buy it. The only thing possibly better is actually being there with him in concert.

This is the closest anyone will ever get to being present at an ND concert without being there. For Gods sake, you even hear him getting his breath between numbers. No hiding place on the first two discs. Every second on the record of of his Dec,02 Las Vegas concert. From the opening fanfare to the final walk off. The most important album since "Hot August Night". DVD a bonus with live footage of Dublin 2002 and an enlightning documentary on "Diamondville". Add to this a fourth and fifth CD and you have the ultimate Neil Diamond collection for the twenty first century! Buy it now!

A Great Collection Of Live Songs
Reviewed in the United States on 23 January 2010
This is a great 5 disc collection of live performances, and a 6th disc which contains highlights from the 2002 Ireland Concert. I saw Neil Diamond live for the first time in October of 2008, during his Home Before Dark World Tour. I have several of his live albums, and this one is one of my favorites. I didn't know that the first two discs contained an entire concert that was recorded in Las Vegas in 2002, until I opened the disc. I thought it was just collections of songs, because places like iTunes didn't say a date for when the songs were recorded. Some of the songs that he played in Las Vegas in 2002, he didn't play during the 2008 world tour. Some of the songs are the same as the 2008 concert. The man has still got the moves after all these years. I was really impressed when I saw him play in 2008, that he still had his moves. This is a great collection. The only disc I don't listen too that much, is the 5th disc, which is Christmas songs. Discs 1 and 2 are titled "A Night In Las Vegas" for his 2002 tour. Discs 3 and 4 are live recordings from various years. Disc 5, is live Christmas songs. Disc 6, is a DVD of highlights from the Ireland Tour. I like the Live In America CD, but this CD collection is even better. In February 2010, the Hot August Night/NYC 2 CD set is going to be released here in the US, with unreleased songs from the tour. I would recommened getting this collection, and Hot August Night/NYC CD for two reasons. 1. To have the complete live concerts. 2.For Hot August Night/NYC, you should get it if you were at one of the tours, or if you just want to complete the Hot August Night CD collections. This will be the 3rd Hot August Night CD that will be released. If you are a fan of live performance CDs, then get this one.
